The Air Fryer Can Be Practical, but It Has Disadvantages That Many Ignore. Discover the Negative Points That Sellers Rarely Mention.
The oil-free electric fryers, known as air fryers, have gained space in Brazilian kitchens due to the promise of preparing food in a healthier and more practical way.
However, it is essential to be aware of some disadvantages associated with this appliance that are not always highlighted by sellers.

Formation of Harmful Substances
Preparing starchy foods, such as potatoes, at high temperatures can result in the formation of acrylamide, a potentially carcinogenic substance.

After decades of failed attempts, Brazil is once again looking to space with an orbital rocket measuring 12 meters, weighing 12 tons, costing R$ 189 million, and scheduled for launch in 2026, in a new race to finally achieve autonomous access to orbit.
-
The Earth will plunge into a few minutes of darkness in broad daylight in August 2026, when a total solar eclipse transforms the sky into one of the most impressive astronomical phenomena in recent years.
-
How the terraforming of Mars can transform the planet: artificial aerosols can increase the temperature by up to 35°C in 15 years, creating conditions for liquid water.
-
Scientists drilled nearly 8,000 meters into the ocean floor above the fault that caused the 2011 tsunami in Japan and discovered that a layer of clay 130 million years old was responsible for making the wave much worse than any model had predicted.
Although the air fryer uses less oil, the risk of acrylamide formation remains due to the high temperatures employed.
To minimize this risk, it is recommended to avoid temperatures above 180°C and monitor cooking time so that the food does not become excessively golden or burnt.
Limited Capacity
The capacity of air fryers varies by model, but generally they have limited space. Smaller models may not be suitable for large families or for preparing whole pieces, such as a roasted chicken.
This may require the user to cook in multiple stages, increasing the total preparation time and energy consumption.
Noise During Operation
Due to the use of internal fans for circulating hot air, air fryers can produce a noise level similar to that of a convection oven.
This continuous sound can be bothersome, especially during preparations that require prolonged cooking times.
Labor-Intensive Cleaning
Although some parts of air fryers are removable and dishwasher safe, cleaning can be challenging. Food residues may get stuck in hard-to-reach areas, requiring more effort and the use of specific products for proper sanitation.
Alteration in Flavor and Texture of Foods
Despite the promise of replicating the crunchiness of traditionally fried foods, air fryers do not always achieve the same result.
Some users report that certain foods do not become as crispy or flavorful as those prepared by immersion in oil, which can be a disadvantage for those seeking to maintain traditional flavor.
Energy Consumption and Initial Cost
Although air fryers are efficient in terms of preparation time, they can represent an increase in electricity consumption, depending on the frequency of use and the appliance’s power. Additionally, the initial investment can be significant, with quality models commanding high prices.
Space of the Air Fryer in the Kitchen
Due to their size, especially in larger capacity models, air fryers can take up considerable space on the countertop or in kitchen cabinets. For kitchens with limited space, this can pose an additional challenge in organizing the environment.
Limitations on Types of Foods Prepared
Not all foods are suitable for preparation in an air fryer. Foods with liquid batters, for example, may not cook evenly or may cause messes inside the appliance. Furthermore, preparations that require moisture, such as certain cakes or breads, may not yield the best results in this type of equipment.
Risk of Overheating and Associated Risks
There are reports of specific models of air fryers experiencing overheating problems, leading to fire risks. Although these cases are rare and typically result in recalls by manufacturers, it is essential to purchase products from reputable brands and follow recommended usage and maintenance instructions.
False Sense of Healthy Eating
The reduction of oil usage may lead some consumers to believe that all foods prepared in the air fryer are healthy.
However, it is essential to remember that the nutritional quality of foods mainly depends on the ingredients used. Ultra-processed foods or those high in saturated fats and sodium remain harmful to health, even when prepared without oil.
In summary, while air fryers offer several advantages, such as reducing oil usage and convenience in food preparation, it is crucial to be aware of their limitations and disadvantages.
Evaluating individual needs and considering the points mentioned can assist in deciding whether or not to acquire this appliance, ensuring that it meets expectations and contributes positively to culinary routines.

A minha durou exatos doze meses.
Exemplo quibe temperatura 200 graus tempo 20 minutos.
Para não ter superaquecimento você pode por 180 graus e por 20 minutos depois retorna mais 20 minutos a 180 graus.
Mas antes de usar precisa aquecer ela uns 15 minutos.
Eu me adaptei super bem…
Mas só uso uma vez na semana eu falei com meu marido se a conta de luz aumentar vou jogar fora.
