Detran Is Accepting Applications for Its Public Competition in the Federal District. There Are Hundreds of Positions for High School and Higher Education Candidates, with Salaries That Can Reach R$ 6.4 Thousand.
The State Department of Traffic of the Federal District (Detran-DF) has released a public competition notice this week, aiming to open 366 positions for various positions. According to the rules established by the entity, interested parties can apply starting this week. The opportunities are intended for candidates with a high school and higher education level, in the positions of technician and analyst, with initial salaries reaching R$ 6.4 thousand per month for an 8-hour workday.

The Department of Traffic of Piauí already has a new elected leadership to take over the agency starting in 2023. The Detran PI contest is confirmed and should move forward with preparations. In an interview with Bom Dia Piauí on TV Globo, engineer Luana Barradas, the new director of Detran, spoke about her initial actions and confirmed that she will conduct the public competition.
According to her, the intention is to implement a modernization process, focusing on advancing digitalization and service qualification. This will be possible by hiring personnel through a competition. The new director, who will take office in 2023, acknowledges the current problems of the state Department of Traffic. Among them, the absence of a competition for more than 40 years. According to her, Detran has not hired permanent staff since the 1970s.

Detran PI Competition Requests Notice with 141 Positions
Recently, a request for a notice for a new Detran PI competition was confirmed. The request was for the filling of 141 permanent positions, of which: 70 positions for traffic analyst (higher education); 46 positions for traffic assistant (high school); and 25 positions for traffic agent (high school). The opportunities are divided between hires for the capital and the countryside of the state. The document also states that Detran PI may have 900 positions in its personnel framework, but currently only 342 are occupied by active servers.
Confirmed Positions and Salaries
The request also brought other information, including the distribution of positions and the salaries that will be offered to future employees. See which specialties will be covered for the analyst position:
- Systems Development Analyst – six positions in Teresina;
- Network Analyst – four positions in Teresina;
- Civil Engineering – two positions in Teresina;
- Electrical Engineering – one position in Teresina;
- Architecture and Urbanism – one position in Teresina;
- Legal Analyst – two positions in Teresina;
- Administration – one position in Teresina;
- Accounting Sciences – one position in Teresina;
- Educational Affairs – two positions in Teresina;
- Examiner – ten positions in Teresina and 40 positions in the countryside.
At the high school level, the traffic assistant will have 21 positions in Teresina and 25 in the countryside, while the agent will have ten positions in Teresina and 15 in the countryside.
Requirements to Compete for the Detran Public Competition Positions
Those interested in competing for one of the Detran positions must meet the requirements required by the entity:
- Be a natural-born or naturalized Brazilian and, in the case of Portuguese nationality, be supported by the statute;
- Provide proof of minimum education for the position recognized by MEC. For higher education positions, qualifications in any area are accepted;
- Be at least 18 years old on the date of hiring;
- Be in compliance with electoral obligations and, for male candidates, be in compliance with military obligations;
- Be in full enjoyment of political and civil rights;
- Not have a criminal record;
- Have physical and mental fitness for the performance of the job duties, to be proven through specific medical exams in the admission process;
- Not have any conviction due to a crime against the Administration, with final judgment.
Registrations and Additional Information About the Detran DF 2022 Public Competition
Those interested in participating in the Detran competition will have between October 10 and November 8 of this year to register through the IBFC website, the institute responsible for conducting the selection process.
The public competition conducted by Detran will consist of an objective test, with eliminatory and classificatory character, common to all positions. A discursive test is also expected, with eliminatory and classificatory significance, only for the analyst position in traffic activities.
The objective test will assess candidates through 90 multiple-choice questions, divided among basic computer skills, basic knowledge about the Federal District, and Portuguese Language, in addition to specific knowledge that varies according to each position. The objective and discursive tests are scheduled for December 11 of this year.
It is important to emphasize that, of the total positions offered in the Public Competition, 20% are reserved for candidates with disabilities and another 20% for candidates who identify as brown or black at the time of registration. For economically disadvantaged candidates, 10% of the positions are reserved.
Responsibilities and Salaries of the Detran Competition
The salary offered by Detran-DF for the high school position is R$ 4,650 for a 40-hour workweek.

Technician in Traffic Activities (240 Positions)
Responsible for executing activities related to support in performing the duties of the Traffic Activities Career and executing activities of interest to the area.
Analyst in Traffic Activities (126 Positions)
Responsible for supervising and controlling the activities of entities accredited, contracted, or associated with Detran DF, collecting statistical data, instructing processes, conducting courses focused on traffic issues, supervising the issuance, custody, and filing of the Annual Licensing Certificate, Vehicle Registration Certificate, National Driver’s License, the Driving Permit, and other documents provided for by law.
