The JCB Fast Track 2, developed by the English manufacturer JCB, is breaking barriers in the world of tractors. Recognized by the Guinness World Records, this tractor redefines what we understand as “fast” in the agricultural context, reaching an incredible 250 km/h.
If you think tractors are synonymous with slowness, think again. When it comes to the JCB Fast Track 2, we’re talking about a tractor that doesn’t even see dust. With speeds of up to 250 km/h, this machine is in a league of its own.
Performance That Speaks Loudly
The record was set in October 2019 and officially recognized by the Guinness World Records in late 2020. At that time, the tractor reached 247 km/h. But, be aware: despite its staggering speed, the Fast Track 2 is not exactly the equipment you would find planting or fertilizing fields in Brazil. The maximum speed for such activities is much more modest, not exceeding 12 km/h.
The JCB spared no innovation in creating this high-performance tractor. The Fast Track 2 is much more aerodynamic than its first version, featuring a diffuser that improves air penetration by 25%. It also underwent a significant weight reduction, going from 8.5 tons to 5 tons, thanks to the use of materials like aluminum and carbon fiber.

The Brazilian passport allows legal residence in dozens of countries without the need for a prior visa, and most Brazilians are unaware that they can apply for residency directly upon arriving in nations in South America, Africa, and even Europe.
Under The Hood: An Envy-Inducing Engine
The tractor is powered by a 7.2-liter dieselmax engine with 6 cylinders, achieving an impressive 1016 HP. Its configuration allows for the use of a turbocharger powered by an electric compressor. Even though it is possible to use vegetable oil as fuel, JCB opted for high-performance diesel in the tests to achieve the maximum potential of the machine.
Safety At High Speed
It’s not just about going fast; it’s also about doing it safely. To ensure the pilot’s integrity, a safety cage certified by the International Automobile Federation was installed. A brake parachute is also part of the setup, helping to slow down the tractor after reaching its high speeds.
Beyond The Fast Track 2
JCB already has a history of producing fast tractors. Its high-speed agricultural tractor series, JCB Land Power, has been produced since 1991. They don’t reach the 247 km/h of the Fast Track 2, but they do clock in at 80 km/h, which is quite an achievement for a heavy-duty tractor.
