Dragon Ball Theme Park To Open In Saudi Arabia In 2027 With Attractions Inspired By The Franchise’s Most Famous Settings
In 2024, Dragon Ball fans experienced intense emotions. The release of the special edition Dragon Ball: Daima, which transformed the characters into children after a curse from the wizard Babidi, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the work.
But at the same time, came the sad news of the death of Akira Toriyama, the creator of the franchise. He was involved in the production before passing away.
Even with the loss of Toriyama and the pause in the Dragon Ball Super manga, there are no signs that the franchise is ending.

A Theme Park Focused On The Dragon Ball Universe
On the contrary. A new project is set to excite fans even more: the first fully themed amusement park about the Dragon Ball universe will open soon.
The forecast is that the public will be able to visit the park starting in 2027. The area will cover about 500,000 square meters and will be located in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. There will be over 30 attractions inspired by iconic locations from the series.
The project has clearly been influenced by Disney parks. The idea is to divide the area into seven different zones, each representing well-known places from the franchise, such as Master Roshi’s House, Beerus’ Planet, and the famous Capsule Corporation.
In addition to the main attractions, the space will feature hotels and restaurants. One of the major highlights will be a roller coaster shaped like the dragon Shenron, standing 70 meters tall. For comparison, this is equivalent to a building of over 20 stories.
Saudi Arabia?
The choice of Saudi Arabia as the location for the park came as a surprise to many fans. After all, the franchise has always had a strong connection to Japan.
However, the Arab country has been heavily investing in new entertainment projects.
The construction is part of Vision 2030, the Saudi government’s plan to diversify the economy and attract tourists.
The idea is to reduce dependence on oil. The park will be built within Qiddiya, a megaproject focused exclusively on tourism, sports, and entertainment.
This interest from the Saudi government in Japanese culture is not recent. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has already purchased the game studio SNK, famous for its fighting titles.
