The hegemony of the Toyota Corolla Hybrid among hybrid sedans is about to be disrupted by the arrival of a new competitor from China: the BYD King. After being spotted in Brazilian territory in early April, the BYD sedan wants to compete with the Corolla Hybrid. But how will this fight play out? The technical comparison between the two models may provide some answers, according to the Estadão website.

Hybrid Comparative: Performance and Autonomy of Sedans

Before comparing the sedans, it is important to say that, although they are medium hybrid models, we are talking about different hybrids. The Corolla Hybrid is a HEV (full hybrid), while the King is a PHEV (plug-in hybrid), which can be charged at a power outlet.

Engine: 1.8 naturally aspirated engine with 16V and 101 hp of maximum power, and two electric motors of 72 hp, totaling 122 hp of combined power;

Já tive o desprazer de ter um Lifan e sei bem como foi a experiência de ter um chinês na garagem ou melhor no mecânico pois quebrava câmbio semestralmente fora problemas de longarina trincada sem nunca ter carregado peso só andando na cidade de São Paulo esburaquenta, pra mim chinês na garagem nunca mais. Hoje tenho um Nissan e estou muito satisfeito com ele, nunca tive Toyota mas é japonês como a Nissan e creio ser bom também. Na dúvida paguem a mais e comprem Toyota ou Nissan que são tanques de guerra perto dos chineses.
