The total phase can be observed more clearly in regions where it is still night, such as Pacific islands, as well as countries in Oceania.
Why Does The Blood Moon Appear Red?
During the lunar eclipse, sunlight passes through the Earth’s atmosphere before reaching the Moon. In this process, the atmosphere scatters the bluish tones and allows the red light to pass through.
The effect is similar to sunset, when the Sun appears in warmer colors. Thus, the Moon reflects this filtered light and takes on the characteristic reddish hue of the blood moon.
