Lunar Eclipse This Tuesday (3) Forms What Is Called A Blood Moon. Phenomenon Occurs At Dawn And Will Have Partial Observation In Brazil.
A lunar eclipse will be recorded on the morning of this Tuesday (3) and is expected to transform the Moon into an intense blood moon during the early hours of the day.
The phenomenon occurs when the Earth positions itself between the Sun and the Moon, filtering sunlight and creating a reddish hue on the natural satellite.
In Brazil, the observation will be partial and limited by the time and the Moon’s position in the sky. The event takes place between the early morning and dawn, when the Moon will already be near the horizon.

Therefore, not all regions of the country will be able to clearly follow the lunar eclipse, even in its initial phase.
Regions With Higher Chances Of Observing The Lunar Eclipse
The visibility of the blood moon varies according to geographic location. According to astronomers, the areas further west in Brazil will have better observation conditions.
States like Acre and the western part of Amazonas can see part of the lunar eclipse, albeit for a short period.
Even in these regions, the Moon will be low on the horizon, which reduces the time available to observe the phenomenon.
In areas of the east of the country, the Moon is expected to set before the eclipse becomes noticeable.
Lunar Eclipse Times In Brazil
The phenomenon follows a specific sequence of phases, considering Brasília time:
- 5:44 AM – start of the penumbral eclipse
- 6:50 AM – start of the partial eclipse
- 8:04 AM to 9:02 AM – total phase of the blood moon (not visible in Brazil)
The total phase can be observed more clearly in regions where it is still night, such as Pacific islands, as well as countries in Oceania.
Why Does The Blood Moon Appear Red?
During the lunar eclipse, sunlight passes through the Earth’s atmosphere before reaching the Moon. In this process, the atmosphere scatters the bluish tones and allows the red light to pass through.
The effect is similar to sunset, when the Sun appears in warmer colors. Thus, the Moon reflects this filtered light and takes on the characteristic reddish hue of the blood moon.
Lunar Eclipse Integrates The Astronomical Calendar Of 2026
The phenomenon is part of a year marked by four eclipses. The first occurred in February, with an annular solar eclipse, reinforcing scientific and public interest in astronomical events throughout 2026.
