The expectation is that the fleet of Embraer in Australia will grow significantly with the delivery of eight E190-E2 jets to Virgin Australia later this year.

Alliance Airlines, in particular, is the largest E-Jet operator in Australia, serving domestic routes in partnership with Qantas.

In 2024, Embraer and Virgin Australia signed an order for eight E190-E2 jets as part of the airline’s fleet renewal plan.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025, and the fleet will be based in Perth, Western Australia.
The E190-E2 is recognized as the most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft with the lowest noise emissions in its category.
Its aerodynamic improvements, new wing design, and advanced technologies provide significant reductions in carbon emissions and fuel consumption.
The jet is certified to operate with blends of up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and has already demonstrated compatibility with 100% SAF in test flights.
Embraer is committed to developing products and technologies that contribute to the aviation industry’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The E2 jet family is part of this commitment, with full certification to operate on 100% SAF expected by 2030.

Countries such as Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Sweden, and Slovakia have already chosen the KC-390 for their air forces, confirming the success of this innovative platform.
