The Exemption from ICMS on What Is Produced by Solar Energy Will Be Guaranteed for Those Who Install Photovoltaic Panels by the End of January 2023. This Benefit Granted to Brazilians Is Also Called a Tax Haven, and According to Analysts, Now Is One of the Best Times to Invest in the Sector.
NeoSolar is one of the pioneers in solar energy throughout the country. It is completing 12 years and already has more than 40,000 customers, and estimates a growth of over 400% in the next five years. The institution is expected to benefit from the tax “haven” in Brazil, which allows all individuals who install photovoltaic panels by January 2023 to be exempt from paying ICMS until the year 2045.
Lithium batteries, hybrid systems, agribusiness, and microinverters are among the trends that, according to NeoSolar, need investments to have good development in the coming years. Despite being promising bets, international commodities are facing significant price increases due to a lack of raw material supply. Billionaire Elon Musk, for example, is fighting to secure new partnerships for lithium supply, which is experiencing increases due to its productivity being 11% lower than necessary for the industry in 2021.
NeoSolar Invests Beyond Solar Energy and Photovoltaic Panels
According to the press office of NeoSolar, which contacted Click Petroleum and Gas, the institution is investing far beyond solar energy and photovoltaic panels: the company is interested in providing the best possible experience for customers through an ‘e-commerce’. Another service offered by the institution is the availability of technicians to perform maintenance on the panels.

No ICMS and Leadership in Off Grid
The brand is also a leader in the market focused on Off Grid, meaning systems that are not connected to the electrical grid and rely on batteries, widely used in remote locations that still lack poles or underground wiring. It also participates in social programs such as “More Light for the Amazon”, which aims to bring high-potential solar energy to more remote regions of the Amazon and riverside communities. The projects were created even amid the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic crisis.
Raphael Pintão, one of the co-founders of NeoSolar, remarks in a press conference that the market is growing exponentially and that every day, the population has more access to information about benefits that can be granted by solar energy. For the company to stand out in the market, according to the businessman, a complete portfolio, better customer service, and specialized support for all customer categories are necessary.
Raphael states that, during their time in the market, they have already managed to prevent over 1.2 million tons of carbon dioxide from being released into the environment. Not to mention, in addition, over 22,000 families have already been served across Brazil – which adds up to the total of 40,000 customers when considering the companies that have already received support.
Solar energy is a way for Brazilians to escape the energy crisis, where batteries, according to Aneel, should see increases of up to 65% in 2022.
