Technological activities play a fundamental role in the economic recovery process in 2021. The pandemic caused instability in the job market, but social distancing requires companies to accelerate their digital transformation processes and increase the demand for technology professionals.

The advancement of cloud connectivity, investments in information security, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the expansion of 5G are some of the points marking advancements in the sector, which witnessed a growth of 7% in the first half of this year, according to information from the International Data Corporation – IDC Brazil. Given this reality, Brazil will need 400,000 workers in the IT sector by 2025, and many organizations are already seeking specialized labor.

According to HR manager, Karla Kristina da Silva, the COVID-19 pandemic was decisive for the company’s investment in outsourcing: “We restructured and started focusing on consulting. Now, we collaborate in recruiting professionals for clients who lack know-how in technology and we are also leading the outsourcing – allocation of professionals. In this way, we have expanded the number of hires,” she explains.

The humanized management approach is one of Gateware’s strengths. The company, which advocates social causes, has an inclusion effort focused on diversity: “Our differentiator is how we treat all professionals. We have formed a company with an open mind, willing to evolve with the market. We provide job openings for PCD, Lgbtqia+, and more than 50% of our leadership positions are held by women,” says Karla. Great Place to Work (GPTW) Certification

Recently, Gateware received the Great Place to Work (GPTW) certification, an international seal that recognizes great places to work. The company, which makes a difference with performance and creativity, drives transformation and impacts business, focusing on providing the best strategies and solutions for clients.

For the Head of People and Culture at Gateware, and also a specialist in human and organizational development, Jhenifer Souza, the GPTW achievement is the result of a people-focused business management: “We conducted a climate survey with our employees, then we developed strategies with improvement actions, implemented effective internal communication and also the “One on One” dialogue between leaders and team members. This individualized attention was crucial for the process,” she explains.

Internal Improvements Designed for Employees

In addition to the “One on One,” an onboarding project was created to integrate with leadership and involves constant dialogues with employees. Expectation interviews are also frequent with the areas. There are other actions designed specifically for professionals, such as experience feedback and performance management. In fact, the company hired a specific platform to manage this and already has 90 feedbacks registered – there, people have the opportunity to recognize their colleagues’ work and bring new ideas and suggestions for improvement. This technology also makes it possible to conduct performance evaluations and develop individual development plans for employees. Three meetings focused on the development of soft skills were held this year and three more are scheduled to occur later in 2021.

The genuine concern of Gateware for its employees earned the company a score of 9.3 in the GPTW certification: “We have noticed that employees appreciate this care we have. And our focus is precisely to care, to be concerned, and to know that people are at the center of actions in São Paulo because business is done by them. So, if we take good care of people, the result is a consequence,” concludes Jhenifer.

The GPTW certification reinforces the humanist perception that the company has for its employees and clients. It is an example of the possibility of doing business with quality, without leaving aside companionship, trust, and opportunities.
