Hope Announces Investment of R$ 10 Million and Creation of 500 Job Openings at Factory in Maranguape, Ceará.

In a strategic move to meet growing demand and expand its operations, Hope, a renowned fashion brand, announced a significant investment of R$ 10 million in its factory located in Maranguape, in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza. This financial injection will not only strengthen the company’s production capacity but will also result in the creation of 500 new job openings by the end of this year. The decision comes with an ambitious production goal, with a forecast of manufacturing six million pieces in the second half of 2024.

Factory Expansion and Partnerships with Workshops

Currently, Hope operates with 280 stores distributed across Brazil, encompassing its brands Hope, Hope Resort, and Bonjour.

The company aims to end the year with a total of 700 stores and a revenue increase of 15% to 20%.

To achieve these goals, the expansion of its manufacturing unit in Maranguape is crucial, as the factory is responsible for producing 60% of the pieces sold by the brand.

The remaining 40% are produced in partner sewing workshops, previously known as facções.

The factory in Maranguape, which currently has over a thousand employees, is undergoing a significant expansion process.

Since its inauguration in 1998, the plant underwent a renovation in 2021 that doubled its area, increasing from 16,000 to 33,000 square meters.

This new investment of R$ 10 million aims not only to modernize the machinery but also to increase production capacity and meet the heated demand from the market.

In addition to the investment in the factory, Hope is expanding its number of partnerships with sewing workshops.

Currently, the company has 24 partner workshops but plans to end the year with a total of 35.

Sandra Chayo, managing partner of the Hope Group, emphasizes that while the number of partners is important, the focus is on enhancing the quality of partnerships.

“The most important thing here is not the volume of partners, but to grow cells with qualified partners,” says Sandra.

The partner workshops, even though external, are closely monitored by the Hope team, which ensures complete support in terms of engineering and quality control.

Many Job Openings Will Be Created After the Investment and Expansion

With the increase in production capacity and the expansion of partnerships, Hope expects an 18% increase in the number of employees at its factory and workshops in this second half.

Currently, the group has 1,060 direct employees and another 700 in its partner workshops.

With the creation of 500 new job openings, the company not only reinforces its market presence but also significantly contributes to local economic growth.

The planning for acquiring new machinery, initiated at the beginning of the year, needed to be revised due to the heated demand.

This adjustment demonstrates Hope’s ability to quickly adapt to market needs and maintain its prominent position in the sector.

The factory in Maranguape, established by founder Nissim Hara and now managed by his daughter Sandra Chayo, continues to be a central pillar in Hope’s operations.

With recent expansion and additional investment, the unit not only reinforces its strategic importance to the brand but also solidifies its commitment to the economic and social development of the region.
