Stattus4 Receives Investment of R$1.4 Million from Venture Capital Group in Brazil and Focuses on Reducing Water Losses for Sustainability
Stattus4 is a type of startup that aims to create environmental solutions through the interpretation of data about natural resources, especially water. This way, distributors can measure the use of water and natural gas resources more effectively and avoid unnecessary losses. This sustainability concept is part of smart cities, which seek to use their resources more efficiently.
DOMO Invest, one of the venture capital managers in Brazil, liked what it saw and decided to invest R$1.4 million in this startup, betting on improving the use of water resources. According to the CEO of Stattus4, if water resources were saved at a rate of 20%, there would be enough to provide drinking water to over 35 million Brazilians.
The CTO and founder of the company, Antônio Carlos de Oliveira Jr, also emphasizes that there is still a significant waste of water in the cities of the country due to inadequate monitoring. According to the National Sanitation Information System (SNIS), the drinking water lost in distribution reaches 40.1%. It is a considerable number when 84% of Brazilians have treated water for consumption.

Havan will leave the shopping mall in Blumenau to inaugurate something that the chain has never done before: a megastore in half-timbered style in the Historic Center of the city, which is expected to be completed in May and change the landscape of local retail.
Thus, they sought a way to use artificial intelligence to detect potential losses of drinking water and found about 7,000 leaks, fixing them in time. As a result, they managed to save the equivalent of 43 Olympic-sized swimming pools per day. The figure below shows the impact the company had in identifying leaks across the national territory.

Stattus4 Startup Will Expand Internationally and Bring New Environmental Solutions That Are Even More Accurate for Monitoring Water Resources
This startup focused on environmental solutions has seen an impressive growth of 280% per year and now, with this multimillion-dollar investment, intends to expand its market to Latin America and Portugal. Thus, the company will consolidate its expansion beyond national territory, taking the concept of Smart Cities and Industrial Intelligence even further.
One of the main improvements planned by the startup for the coming years is the 4Fluid IoT software, which can identify potential water leaks, and 4Gas, which collects data on natural gas consumption. All this information is collected through sensors and telemetry and sent to a cloud server that enables analysis.
Stattus4 Was Founded with the Aim of Proposing Environmental Solutions and Identified the Need to Prevent Loss of Natural Resources
In 2014, thinking about the concept of smart cities, Marília Lara Marcondes and Antônio Carlos de Oliveira Jr founded Stattus4 to create environmental solutions. However, it was only through the participation in an electric geophone project that they realized the importance and difficulty of identifying data on possible losses of drinking water, such as leaks.
They then thought about adopting the use of sensors based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to convert the collected data into meaningful information. This way, they created products capable of preventing real losses of water resources through awareness actions, and apparent losses through monitoring potential leaks and distribution problems.
Given the importance of this initiative for society, Cesar Pinela, manager at DOMO Invest, comments that the environmental solutions proposed by Stattus4 meet an urgent demand in society, contributing to the effective management of gas and water distributors. Furthermore, the use of 4.0 industry technology to solve problems places the startup in a position directly related to the concept of Smart Cities.
