Brazil Continues to Receive Investments Aimed at Increasing the Production of Renewable Energy in the Country. This Time, a Company Promises to Invest R$ 2 Billion in Wind Energy Production in a Brazilian City.
According to the information, the company in question is Casa dos Ventos, the largest developer of wind energy in the country, which announced that it will make the investment in the city of Tianguá III, located in the state of Ceará.
According to the company, there will be a total of seven generating plants and 56 wind turbines, with each turbine having a nominal power of 4.5 MegaWatts, totaling 252 MW of installed capacity in an area of approximately 460 hectares.
The confirmed figures are smaller than those previously announced. This is because, earlier, Casa dos Ventos anticipated 70 turbines, which together would sum up to a total power of 315 MW. However, this number has been revised.

More Wind Energy and Jobs
According to the company, it is expected that Tianguá III will begin generating energy in early 2027. However, before that, the construction of the wind farm will take place, which, according to the company, will bring many jobs to the municipality. In this regard, Casa dos Ventos states that it expects the creation of one thousand jobs with the construction of the park.
The Wind Potential of the Project
According to Bernardo Santana, director of Regulation at Sindienergia CE and partner at BVS Energies of Sindienergia, the construction is set to be a success. This is because, among various points, there is the fact that the city boasts one of the best average wind speeds in the state.
“The wind resource in the region is robust, with stable and strong winds, often compared to the coastline”, he says. Furthermore, the director highlights that this potential of the region is one of the sensitive points in the territorial dispute between Ceará and Piauí.
Today, Piauí is in litigation with Ceará, intending to incorporate the region into its state. This dispute could result in Ceará losing up to 45 wind projects installed or with construction authorization in municipalities involved in the territorial dispute with Piauí.
