The Free Specialization for Electricians Will Be Offered by IFMA, with Enrollment Until April 15. The Training Is Targeted at Those Over 18 with Complete Elementary Education. Classes Will Be In-Person and with a Certificate.

Want to enter the job market with a high-demand profession? The free specialization for electricians recently launched in Imperatriz (MA) could be your starting point. The initiative is from the Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA), which is offering 25 spots for those seeking genuine technical training, at no cost.

The training focuses on electrical distribution networks and will have in-person classes at the IFMA campus in the city. In addition to learning practically, students will also receive a recognized certificate, increasing their chances of finding a job or even starting as self-employed.

Who Can Participate in the Free Specialization

The specialization is aimed at those who:

  • Are 18 years old or older;
  • Have completed elementary education;
  • Are looking for quick, free technical qualification with certification.

There is no cost to participate — neither for enrollment nor throughout the specialization.

How to Register

Enrollment is open until April 15, 2025, and is done online. To participate, just visit the official IFMA website, fill out the form, and submit the required documents. Those selected will be notified by email or phone. https://manager.escoladeeletricistaseqtl.com.br/arquivos/IMPERATRIZ_EDITAL_2025_ESCOLA_DE_ELETRICISTAS.pdf

Tip: since there are only 25 spots, it’s best to secure your registration as soon as possible.

What the Specialization Teaches

The content is comprehensive and geared towards the day-to-day of the profession. Students learn:

  • How to install and maintain electrical distribution networks;
  • Technical standards and safety regulations when working with electricity;
  • Use of specific equipment and tools;
  • Basics of energy, measurement, and sustainability.

Classes are all in-person, with both theoretical and practical components, which helps to learn in a more dynamic and applied way.

Why This Training Is Worth It

The electric sector is among the fastest growing in Brazil, and the demand for qualified labor is only increasing. According to data from Abradee (Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors), there is a shortage of professionals in various regions of the country, especially in urban expansion areas.

With the free specialization for electricians from IFMA, participants gain access to quality training offered by a recognized public institution. Moreover, the certification at the end of the specialization is an important differentiator on a resume.
