Detran Updates List Of Vehicles That Can Be Operated Without A Driver’s License And Further Expands The List Of Practical And Economic Mobility Options.

Did you know that there are vehicles in Brazil that can be driven without the famous National Driver’s License (CNH)? That’s right!

Although most drivers are used to carrying this document to drive on the streets, there is a surprising list of vehicles that, by law, can be operated without a license.

The State Department of Transit (Detran) has just updated this list, leaving many Brazilians surprised by the number of options.

What many still don’t know is that Brazilian legislation allows for the operation of certain vehicles in a more accessible manner.

While some only require a simplified authorization, others do not require any type of document, making them an appealing alternative for those seeking mobility without legal complications. But do you already know all the models that do not require a CNH?

Understand The Cinquentinhas And The ACC

Among the most well-known vehicles that do not require a CNH are the famous cinquentinhas.

These motorcycles with engines of up to 50cc can be operated by law only with the Authorization for Driving a Moped (ACC), which is a simplified version of the license.

The ACC is cheaper and easier to obtain, making it an ideal choice for those seeking economy and practicality in urban traffic.

According to Detran, the cinquentinhas are recommended for those who wish to avoid the bureaucratic processes of the CNH, as long as the driver is over 18 years old and has the document up to date.

If you are wondering about the available options, brands such as Shineray and Dafra stand out in the market.

Popular Models That Do Not Require A CNH

According to Detran, several models are available for those who want to drive without a license. Here are some highlights:

  • Shineray Jet 50 and Jet 50 2x: Practical, economical, and popular models. The Jet 50 is basic and efficient, while the 2x features a more modern design.
  • New Super Smart 50: Another affordable cinquentinha, known for its low price and simplicity.
  • Dafra Zig 50: Popular among Brazilians for its reliability and low maintenance cost.
  • Avelloz AZ1: With a sporty design and high technology, this model attracts those seeking innovation.

These options are ideal for short trips in urban areas and stand out for their cost-effectiveness, as well as being alternatives for those who wish to travel without depending on public transportation or spending on the CNH.

Electric Vehicles That Do Not Require A CNH

Another point that deserves attention is the electric vehicles. Recently, there has been an expansion in the electric mobility market in Brazil, with various models of electric scooters and electric bicycles available.

These vehicles also do not require a license, as long as they respect the speed and power limits.

Electric Scooters: according to traffic regulations, electric scooters that do not exceed a speed of 25 km/h can be used freely, without the requirement of a CNH.

They are becoming increasingly popular in large cities for being sustainable and practical for short trips.

Electric Bicycles: according to current legislation, electric bicycles that do not exceed a speed of 25 km/h and do not have a throttle also do not require a license.

These bicycles operate similarly to traditional ones but with the aid of an electric motor, making it easier to navigate steep terrain or longer routes.

Tricycles And Quadricycles

In addition to cinquentinhas and electric vehicles, tricycles and quadricycles also make the list of vehicles that can be operated without a CNH, provided they meet the power and speed specifications established by law.

Electric tricycles, for example, are widely used in some regions of Brazil and are gaining traction in the transport of small loads or in rural areas.

According to Detran, this category of vehicles is frequently reviewed to ensure that users can enjoy safe and legal ways to drive without the need to invest in obtaining a CNH.

Alternatives For Those Who Need A CNH

Although there are several vehicles that do not require a license, the CNH remains essential for driving most motorized vehicles, such as cars and motorcycles over 50cc.

For those facing financial difficulties to obtain the document, there is the CNH Social program, which offers free licensing for low-income individuals.

According to expert Lila Cunha, this program is an excellent opportunity for those who cannot afford the high costs of a driver’s license.

The initiative helps make traffic more accessible to all Brazilians, ensuring that more people can access motorized vehicles safely and legally.

Now, with so many alternatives on the market, do you think these options without the need for a CNH are sufficient to meet the demand for mobility in Brazil? Or do you believe the CNH should still be required for more types of vehicles?

Deveria ser exigida CNH somente para profissionais que dirigem veículos grandes, caminhões, ônibus camionetes, carros comuns não deveria exigir, tais como Ford Fiesta Stree, Fiat Uno e outros da mesma categoria,
