The Army opens a selection process for temporary soldiers. Applications are for positions at the elementary, technical, and higher education levels. A temporary soldier can serve for up to 8 years in a barracks where assigned (contract renewal is annual based on performance and the needs of the agency). Oil and gas contracts in Rio de Janeiro require offshore positions on this day, August 4.

• Be a volunteer;
• Be a natural-born or naturalized Brazilian;
• Be exclusively between 19 and 35 years of age on the date of incorporation;
• Height requirement: men at least 1.60m and women at least 1.55m;
• Have completed elementary education at an Educational Institution recognized by the MEC;
• Diplomas/Certificates from other courses completed by the candidate that are qualified for the area of interest of the Brazilian Army;
• In the case of a “D” and/or “E” category driver, be qualified in the corresponding category.

To Compete for the Elementary Level Positions: Temporary Specialist Corporal (CET) – Approximate Gross Salary: R$3,441.37

• Building Electrician;
• Electronics, Mechatronics or Electro-Electronics;
• Musical Instrument (Bass Drum, Soprano Clarinet MiB, Soprano Clarinet in B♭, Flugelhorn B♭, Horn F, and MiB, Soprano Saxophone in B♭, Snare Drum, Tenor Trombone, Tuba MiB, and Tuba B♭);
• Driver category D and/or E;
• Spray Painter (Bodywork).

To Compete for the Technical Level Positions: Temporary Technical Sergeant (STT) – Approximate Gross Salary: R$5,125.50

• Administration;
• Accounting;
• Nursing;
• Pharmacy;
• Computer Science;
• Musical Instrument (Clarinet, Double Bass, Harp, Oboe, Percussion/Xylophone, Alto Saxophone MiB, French Horn, and Cello);
• Logistics;
• Automotive Mechanics;
• Aerospace Maintenance;
• Radiology.

To Compete for the Higher Education Positions: Temporary Technical Officer (OTT) – Approximate Gross Salary: R$9,510.48 to R$11,295.65 (after 2 years) or R$14,016.50 (if qualified with a postgraduate degree of interest to the Army)

• Nursing with specialization in Intensive Care/ICU;
