Vacancies and Quotas System
IFPE offers hundreds of vacancies across its campuses, distributed throughout cities such as Recife, Caruaru, Garanhuns, Belo Jardim, Barreiros, Vitória de Santo Antão, Afogados da Ingazeira, Abreu e Lima, and others.
According to the Quotas Law (Law nº 12.711/2012), 60% of the vacancies are reserved for candidates who completed their high school in public schools, with half allocated to low-income students. Within this group, there is a specific reserve for black, brown, indigenous, quilombola, and disabled individuals, according to IBGE proportions.
Additionally, 25% of the general competition vacancies in agricultural courses, such as Agronomy and Agroecology, are directed to candidates from rural backgrounds — family farmers, artisanal fishermen, riverside communities, and traditional communities.
How the Selection Process Will Be
The selection process will be held through in-person tests, organized by the Funcern (Foundation for Support to Education and Technological Development of RN).
The test for undergraduate courses will consist of:
- 50 objective questions on Portuguese Language, Foreign Language (English or Spanish), Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, and Geography;
- One discursive essay, weighted at 20% of the final score.
For the Music Teaching Degree, the candidate will also take a Specific Music Assessment (AEM), which will require an in-person vocal or instrumental performance, analyzing technique, tuning, and interpretation.
The final classification will be based on the weighted average between the tests and the essay (and the AEM, when applicable).
Requirements for Application
Candidates who have completed high school or an equivalent by the enrollment date may apply. It is necessary to have a CPF and an official photo ID.
IFPE recommends that the participant has internet access and a computer or smartphone, as all monitoring of the process, from application to final results, will be done online.
There is no age limit, and vacancies are open to candidates from all over Brazil.
