International students admitted to Cambridge will receive an application form to apply for the scholarships. All applications must be made through the UCAS platform. This is a unified application system for universities in the United Kingdom.
The use of the system makes life easier for those who plan to apply to more than one university in the country, such as Oxford. It is a charitable system created in the early 90s that serves as the basis for applications to most universities in the United Kingdom.
How to Search for Courses to Study Abroad?
On the UCAS search page, it is possible to search for the intended course. The tool assists those who already know they want to study abroad but are unsure where to apply. Just select the level of study and the academic term, or search by region of England, for example.
It is also possible to search by country that makes up the United Kingdom. A page with the institutions selected by the chosen filter will be displayed, and to know the details, just click on the university of interest or select the option that connects to a chat with students from the institution.
To apply through the platform, international students, like Brazilians, in addition to entering personal data, will need to provide documents such as academic transcripts, high school completion certificate, proficiency exam results, and a motivation letter. It is possible to apply for up to five courses at once.
Requirements to Apply and Gain Access to Scholarships
When applying through UCAS, the student does not necessarily have to submit all the documents required by the University of Cambridge; in some cases, these documents may only be requested in a second phase. The university may also conduct interviews with applicants.
The application requirements for scholarships to study abroad vary for each course. Generally, it is necessary to demonstrate completion of high school with good grades and to show proficiency in English through exams such as IELTS or TOEFL. Letters of recommendation and a motivation letter are also typically required. It may also be necessary to submit exam scores.
After submitting the application, it is necessary to track the progress through the account created on UCAS. The system always notifies when there is an update. More information about the application process can be found on the University of Cambridge’s website.
