Brazilian Army Opens New Selection Process with Vacancies for Higher Education Candidates: Uncontested Positions Offer Salaries of up to R$ 11,000 per Month!

The Brazilian Army is accepting applications for a new selection process with uncontested vacancies. The vacancies in the Brazilian Army are for Temporary Technical Officers to join through the Voluntary Military Service. In this article, we will detail the entire selection process, vacancies, and participation requirements.

How Do the Uncontested Temporary Positions Work?

The 1988 Constitution established the obligation of military service for all Brazilian citizens, male, as well as its conditions. The provision of temporary military service through a selection process aims to prepare and qualify a reserve of citizens capable of being mobilized and called upon when reasons constitutional and legal justify these measures.

On the other hand, from the perspective of the fiscal responsibility of the Brazilian Armed Forces, maintaining a full complement of career military personnel would result in a very large expense and investment for the Brazilian state, potentially affecting the entire society that would have to bear this high cost.

Another point that should be highlighted is the length of service for the temporary vacancies in the Brazilian Army. According to the Military Service Law of 1966, the maximum time for serving in temporary military service is eight years, being extended each year. This time can be interrupted and resumed by the military throughout their career.

Check the Details of the Uncontested Selection Process

To compete for one of the vacancies in the Brazilian Army, the candidate must be a native Brazilian, be up to 40 years old, and have a completed higher education degree in the areas established in the Notice. All uncontested vacancies in the selection process are intended for the 8th Military Region, which includes the states of Pará, Maranhão, and part of the state of Tocantins. The minimum service period is 12 months, and the maximum is 96 months.

Among the accepted professions for the position of Temporary Officer are Social Communication – Journalism, Social Communication – Public Relations, and History. The applications for the selection process for vacancies in the Brazilian Army are already open and must be submitted through the website of the 8th Military Region.

The application fee is R$ 50, and the selection consists of a physical fitness assessment with exercises such as Sit-ups, requiring 20 repetitions for men and 14 for women (without a time limit), Push-ups: 10 repetitions for men and 6 for women (without a time limit), and a free run of at least 1,600 meters for women and 1,800 meters for men, in under 12 minutes.

Understand the Benefits of Being a Temporary Military

Those approved for vacancies in the Brazilian Army enjoy many benefits compared to employees of private sector companies. Job security, salaries above market rates, stability, predictability, and especially the opportunity to serve and represent Brazil, even in other countries, are part of the advantages of joining the Armed Forces.

Temporary military service can also be used as a stepping stone for citizens who wish to further their studies, including specializations, undergraduate degrees, postgraduate programs, among others. The work regime in military units varies according to the purpose of the unit.

The units dedicated to training other military personnel, such as the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras (AMAN), Air Force Academy (AFA), Naval School (EN), and the Aeronautics Instruction and Adaptation Center (CIAAR), are excellent places for citizens who wish to work and focus on their studies, as they have different schedules.
