Everything You Need to Know About the Event Scheduled to Take Place by Thursday, June 16.

The Exponor 2022 is an event aimed at the mining audience and will take place in Antofagasta, Chile. Many companies located in Brazil are expected to participate and show optimism as a sector.  The duration goes until the 16th of this month and will cover the use of robots for cooling and cleaning panels in the industry, renewable energy generation, and various other research. Projections are satisfactory, estimating that business generation will be US$ 850 million per year.

Data shows that mining remained stagnant during 2021 due to the pandemic and the difficulty in maintaining the productivity achieved in previous years, resulting in a reduction of 11% less than needed to satisfy the industry. The lack of raw materials has also affected Elon Musk, the billionaire and owner of Tesla, who, in a constitutional email, stated to the company’s upper management that they should pause hiring to maintain cash stability amid a crisis. According to him, the pause in hiring should be 10%. Materials have become more expensive, and the impact has also fallen on coal, which saw an accumulated increase of 103% over the last 52 weeks.

What Are the Expectations for Exponor 2022?

Scheduled to last for four days, Exponor 2022 will feature at least 700 exhibitors and more than 40,000 visitors. In summary, there will be presentations of 19 large projects that could dramatically automate mining, not only in Brazil but on a global scale, making it more sustainable and viable for the environment.

In this current edition, the country is expected to be represented by strong market brands such as Henfel, Netzsch, Neuman & Esser, Porta Cabos, and Steinert.  Netzsch stated that it will present the PERIPROTM NETZSCH Peristaltic Pump as one of its main launches, which allows for greater movement of water across the medium, increasing productivity in mines. They are safer and faster in operation.

The Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, a product built through a partnership between ABIMAQ and Apex Brasil, will also be part of the exhibition taking place this Monday, June 13, in Chile.

The Neuman & Esser  is also a Brazilian company that will participate in the exhibition. In summary, it has developed a process that will simplify and facilitate the grinding of minerals, significantly reducing waste in the process. This process developed by Neuman & Esser  can be used throughout the industry that deals with non-metallic minerals, such as lithium and calcium. Thais Bonini, foreign trade coordinator of the company, expresses optimism about the exhibition and claims it is a good opportunity to showcase the projects of the brand.

Currently, Brazil is one of the largest exporters of metals and construction machinery to Chile, with an amount exceeding 189 million dollars, which is 26% more than the previous year. One of the main destinations for metals produced through mining is the United States, which purchases over 340 million dollars, accounting for more than one-fifth of the Brazilian market. Meanwhile, it is worth noting that Paraguay has a lower value of Brazilian imports, totaling  9 million dollars, and Mexico had a market participation in the mining economy exceeding 9.9 million.
