According to information released by the state government, the factory’s completion is expected by April 2027.

Nissin Foods Bets on Production for Export and Domestic Market
The new Nissin Foods plant will produce both the traditional instant noodles in packs and the popular cup noodles.
A significant portion of this production will be aimed at export, reinforcing Paraná’s position as an export hub for processed foods.
According to the Secretary of Finance of the State of Paraná, this investment is part of the Paraná Competitivo program, which has attracted more than R$ 57 billion in private investments over the last six years through 467 contracts signed with national and foreign companies.
During a recent visit to the construction site, the vice governor of Paraná, Darci Piana, accompanied by the Secretary of Finance, Norberto Ortigara, and the Consul General of Japan, Yasuhiro Mitsui, highlighted the impact of the Japanese investment.
According to Piana, the choice of the state to host the new industrial hub reinforces Paraná’s capacity to attract international resources and strengthen strategic production chains, such as industrialized food.
Tax Incentives and Workforce Training
The Paraná Competitivo program is not limited to granting tax incentives.
The initiative also includes actions aimed at training the local workforce.
According to information from the director president of Invest Paraná, Eduardo Bekin, the Japanese multinational will receive government support to train professionals who will work in production lines, logistics, maintenance, and administrative areas of the new unit.
This type of partnership is seen as essential to ensure operational quality and promote sustainable regional development.
Expansion Before Inauguration and Economic Impact
A distinguishing feature of this industrial project is the expectation of expansion even before the completion of construction.
The government of Paraná is already analyzing, together with Nissin Foods, new financial agreements to expand the Ponta Grossa plant.
According to Bekin, the request for investment expansion could result in increased production capacity and the generation of even more direct and indirect jobs.
The early interest in expansion is attributed to the high demand from the national and international market for instant noodles, a food that has consolidated itself as a staple item in millions of Brazilian households and is one of the main products exported by the sector.
The choice of Ponta Grossa to host the new factory is also strategic from a logistical point of view.
The municipality has a privileged location, with easy access to highways, railways, and ports in the South and Southeast of Brazil, essential factors for the flow of goods and efficient distribution for both domestic and external markets.
Furthermore, the region’s tradition in grain production, especially wheat and corn, facilitates the supply of raw materials for the production of instant noodles.
Regional Development and Relevance of the Food Sector
The arrival of the billion-dollar investment from Nissin Foods is expected to create a positive ripple effect in different sectors of the regional economy.
According to specialists in the industrialized food sector, the implementation of a factory of this size tends to spur the emergence of new suppliers, encourage technological innovation, increase municipal revenue, and promote local socioeconomic development.
Data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) shows that, only in 2023, the processed food sector accounted for more than 25% of Paraná’s industrial GDP, demonstrating the weight of this segment in the state economy.
History and Operations of Nissin Foods in Brazil
Founded in Japan in 1948, Nissin Foods is globally recognized for the invention of instant noodles.
In Brazil, the brand has been present since 1981 and has become a reference among consumers of all ages.
The cup noodles, launched in the country in 1998, is considered one of the most popular products in the line.
In addition to Paraná, the company maintains industrial operations in São Paulo and strengthens, with the new project, its expansion strategy to meet the domestic market and increase exports to South America.
Job Creation and Professional Qualification
Regarding the profile of the jobs to be created, the expectation is for opportunities for professionals of different education levels and experience, with emphasis on operational, technical, and administrative roles.
The partnership with state agencies for training and professional development is seen as a distinguishing feature of the project, aiming to align the company’s needs with the supply of qualified labor in the region.
