Cefor/IFES Opened Enrollment for 160 Free Slots in Two 100% Distance Learning Improvement Courses, Each with 210 Hours. The Courses Start in the 1st Semester of 2026 and Accept Candidates with a Degree in Any Field Until November 13.

The initiative is from the Center for Reference in Distance Education and Training (Cefor) of the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (IFES).

The announcement provides for two offers: Improvement in Educational Design and Improvement in Digital Technologies Applied to Education, both focused on practices and tools for teaching and the production of educational resources. The slots are entirely free, and selection occurs through online registration.

The schedule indicates enrollment in the first semester of 2026, with activities mediated by teachers, defined deadlines, and synchronous virtual meetings. It is not a MOOC; there is pedagogical support and assessments according to the course plan. For questions, the announcement provides official email and WhatsApp contact.

In total, there are 160 slots: 80 for Educational Design and 80 for Digital Technologies. In each course, there is a reservation for PPI and PcD, with reallocation for broad competition if slots remain. The distribution and criteria follow IFES internal regulations.

Applications, Deadlines, and Where to Apply

Applications are open from 10/29/2025 to 11/13/2025 on the IFES/Cefor portal. The registration link is available on the announcement page and directs to the official system. Only online registrations will be accepted within the indicated period.

The candidate must read the announcement, fill out the form, and attach the required documentation. The Application Guidelines Manual and mandatory attachments are also published on the same page.

Who Can Register and Technical Requirements

Individuals with a degree recognized by MEC from any field of knowledge can register.

The announcement specifies the need for a computer with internet and basic computer skills, as activities take place in the Virtual Learning Environment.

Common documentation includes identity, CPF, 2024 electoral proof, diploma or completion declaration with transcript, as well as the registration application. For PPI and PcD quotas, there are self-declarations and specific proofs, according to attachments.

Structure of the Courses: Design and Digital Technologies

The Improvement in Educational Design consists of 210 hours divided into: Fundamentals of Educational Design (60h), Active Learning and Methodologies (60h), and Planning and Multimedia Design (90h). The goal is to train professionals to plan educational resources and organize virtual classrooms in both in-person and distance contexts.

The Improvement in Digital Technologies Applied to Education also totals 210 hours with the subjects: Distance Learning and VLE (30h), Educational Software and Learning Objects (60h), Learning Projects and Concept Maps (60h), and Design and Development of Digital Materials (60h). The aim is to empower teachers in the pedagogical use of technologies.

According to IFES, the courses are 100% Distance Learning, with web conferences foreseen in the course schedules, forums, group work, and delivery of activities with deadlines. Teacher support is mandatory for approval.

For those working in basic, technical, or higher education, the content reinforces active methodologies, instructional design, and multimedia production, skills demanded by networks and institutions that have intensified the digital transformation in education.

Distribution of Slots and Affirmative Actions

Each course offers 80 slots, with 56 for General Competition, 20 for PPI, and 4 for PcD. If the quotas are not filled, the remaining slots return to general competition, without reallocation between courses.

The policy follows Resolution CS No. 10/2017 of IFES and adopts the definitions of IBGE for ethnic-racial classification and federal legislation for PcD. Documentary proof is mandatory and occurs at the time of registration and in any additional steps.

Distance Learning Format and Evaluation

The classes occur in the VLE of IFES, with teacher mediation, and do not constitute a massive open course. The announcement emphasizes that there are participation criteria and evaluative submissions that impact the final approval.

The start is scheduled for the 1st semester of 2026 and the detailed schedule can be consulted in the announcement attachments, along with standard forms and declarations. Check deadlines and attachments before submitting the files.
