The Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program
Launched with the goal of increasing employability in communities near its operations, the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program is a partnership between Petrobras and the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (IFs) and the Support Foundation for IFSul (FAIFSul).
According to Marcela Levigard, Social Projects Manager at Petrobras, the initiative aims to technically prepare residents of these regions for job opportunities available in the oil and gas sector.
Endrigo Pino Pereira Lima, program coordinator at IFSul, highlights that the courses are not limited to just technical content. “We are offering extracurricular activities, tailored teaching methodologies, and psychopedagogical support to ensure that students not only start but also successfully complete the course,” he states.
In the next four years, Petrobras will invest approximately R$ 130 million in the program, offering free courses in 30 Brazilian municipalities. In Rio Grande do Sul, classes will be held in cities such as São Leopoldo, Novo Hamburgo, Sapucaia do Sul, Gravataí, Porto Alegre, and Alvorada. Click to learn more!
