The Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR) has opened a selection process for the Lato Sensu Postgraduate Course in Distance Education in Professional and Technological Education.

The specialization is 100% free, offered in the Distance Education (EAD) modality, with weekly synchronous meetings and a robust policy for inclusive quotas.

Applications will be open during October 2025, with classes scheduled to start in March 2026 and a duration of 18 months.

Specialization in Distance Education Applied to Professional Education

The course has been structured for the continuous education of graduates from any area, integrating the fundamentals, practices, and management of distance education with Professional and Technological Education (EPT).

The pedagogical proposal prioritizes the articulation between theory and practice, focusing on a comprehensive and transformative education aligned with the demands of teaching, work, and innovation.

Modality, Meetings, and Final Project

The offering is entirely virtual, conducted in a Virtual Learning Environment (AVA).

In addition to asynchronous studies, students must participate in synchronous meetings via web conference every Wednesday from 7 PM to 9 PM, with mandatory camera on.

At the end of the course, there will be a Final Project (TCC), which is a requirement for certification.

Who Can Participate

Candidates with a recognized undergraduate degree in Brazil can apply.

There is no restriction on the area of formation, provided the applicant meets the requirements of the announcement and is able to participate in academic activities in a virtual environment.

Registration is free and is conducted exclusively online.

Vacancies and Distribution Across Locations

There are a total of 425 vacancies, distributed across 16 EaD locations of the Open University of Brazil (UAB) associated with IFPR.

The announcement includes reservations for Black populations, Indigenous peoples, people with disabilities, candidates in socioeconomic vulnerability, transgender individuals, migrants, and refugees.

The inclusion policy provides for self-declaration, supporting documentation, and verification according to the established rules.

If the reserved spots are not fully occupied, there will be redistribution according to the announcement’s criteria.

The process is governed by Notice No. 47/2025, under the coordination of the Distance Education Directorate of IFPR.

In addition to meeting the attendance requirements during synchronous sessions, the student must maintain regular access to the AVA and meet submission deadlines.

The requirement to keep the camera on during meetings aims to ensure interaction and pedagogical support, strengthening presence and the quality of the learning process in distance education.

Documents and Enrollment

Approved candidates must present academic documentation and official identification as per the guidelines of the announcement.

Enrollment will be conducted remotely, observing stages, deadlines, and any additional calls.

In case of failure to attend virtually or documentary discrepancies, IFPR may call the next classified candidates from the waiting list.

Essential Schedule

Registration will remain open until October 31, 2025.

The public electronic lottery, when applicable, will follow the dates specified in the announcement, as well as the announcement of results, the period for appeals, and subsequent calls.

The start of classes is scheduled for March 2026, with a total duration of 18 months, including time for the elaboration and defense of the TCC.
