Specialization in Distance Education Applied to Professional Education
The course has been structured for the continuous education of graduates from any area, integrating the fundamentals, practices, and management of distance education with Professional and Technological Education (EPT).
The pedagogical proposal prioritizes the articulation between theory and practice, focusing on a comprehensive and transformative education aligned with the demands of teaching, work, and innovation.
Modality, Meetings, and Final Project
The offering is entirely virtual, conducted in a Virtual Learning Environment (AVA).
In addition to asynchronous studies, students must participate in synchronous meetings via web conference every Wednesday from 7 PM to 9 PM, with mandatory camera on.
At the end of the course, there will be a Final Project (TCC), which is a requirement for certification.
Who Can Participate
Candidates with a recognized undergraduate degree in Brazil can apply.
There is no restriction on the area of formation, provided the applicant meets the requirements of the announcement and is able to participate in academic activities in a virtual environment.
Registration is free and is conducted exclusively online.
Vacancies and Distribution Across Locations
There are a total of 425 vacancies, distributed across 16 EaD locations of the Open University of Brazil (UAB) associated with IFPR.
The announcement provides for a waiting list and the possibility of complementary calls, depending on enrollment confirmation and class occupancy.
The distribution by location considers the capacity for attendance and the local academic organization.
Selection by Electronic Public Lottery
When the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, filling will occur through a public electronic lottery.
The procedure ensures equal conditions among candidates and transparency in the selection process.
Initially, all applicants compete for open competition; subsequently, those who declared in the affirmative actions participate in specific lotteries for reserved spots.
Quota Policy and Affirmative Actions
At least 50% of the vacancies are reserved for affirmative actions.
The announcement includes reservations for Black populations, Indigenous peoples, people with disabilities, candidates in socioeconomic vulnerability, transgender individuals, migrants, and refugees.
The inclusion policy provides for self-declaration, supporting documentation, and verification according to the established rules.
If the reserved spots are not fully occupied, there will be redistribution according to the announcement’s criteria.
Coordination and Reference of the Announcement
The process is governed by Notice No. 47/2025, under the coordination of the Distance Education Directorate of IFPR.
The document includes requirements, a detailed timetable, documentation for enrollment, lottery procedures, and academic-administrative guidelines.
It is recommended to read the entire announcement to clarify doubts regarding deadlines, eligibility criteria, and pedagogical guidelines.
Academic Organization and Study Routine
As it is a lato sensu specialization focused on EPT, the course matrix covers components of planning, didactic-pedagogical mediation in EAD, educational technologies, evaluation, and management of formative processes.
Activities combine guided readings, participation in forums, production of original works, and completion of weekly tasks in the AVA, in addition to attendance in the synchronous meetings on Wednesdays.
Student Commitments
In addition to meeting the attendance requirements during synchronous sessions, the student must maintain regular access to the AVA and meet submission deadlines.
The requirement to keep the camera on during meetings aims to ensure interaction and pedagogical support, strengthening presence and the quality of the learning process in distance education.
Documents and Enrollment
Approved candidates must present academic documentation and official identification as per the guidelines of the announcement.
Enrollment will be conducted remotely, observing stages, deadlines, and any additional calls.
In case of failure to attend virtually or documentary discrepancies, IFPR may call the next classified candidates from the waiting list.
Essential Schedule
Registration will remain open until October 31, 2025.
The public electronic lottery, when applicable, will follow the dates specified in the announcement, as well as the announcement of results, the period for appeals, and subsequent calls.
The start of classes is scheduled for March 2026, with a total duration of 18 months, including time for the elaboration and defense of the TCC.
Open Competition and Reserved Criteria
All applicants first enter the competition for open slots.
Subsequently, candidates who opted for affirmative actions compete for the reserved vacancies for their respective profiles, also through specific lotteries.
The announcement describes the applicable tie-breaking criteria and the method for certifying the results, ensuring transparency and publicity for the acts of the selection process.
Final Guidelines for Candidates
Before registering, it is recommended to check the technical requirements for participating in EAD, such as stable internet access, equipment with a camera and microphone, and availability on Wednesdays from 7 PM to 9 PM for mandatory meetings.
It is also important to evaluate the weekly study load in the AVA, the evaluation policy, and the adherence to the deadlines outlined in the academic calendar.
How to Register
Registration is free and must be done exclusively online, using the form indicated in Notice No. 47/2025, until October 31, 2025.
The candidate needs to fill out the requested information, indicate whether they will compete for open competition or affirmative actions, and attach the required documents.
In case of excess applicants, classification will be determined by public electronic lottery, with announcements made according to the official schedule.
