Ferrari Purosangue SUV Just Arrived in Brazil and Already Has Its Entire Production Sold Out. The Most Coveted Vehicle from the Italian Brand Delivers 725 Horsepower and a Top Speed of Up to 310 km/h.

Launched just over a year ago, the Ferrari Purosangue SUV finally made its debut in the Brazilian market. However, for those who don’t have a hefty bank account and are not regular customers of the brand, the wait could be long. With the entire initial production already sold, the first SUV from the renowned Italian manufacturer has already amassed a waiting list of about two years.

Why Is the Ferrari Purosangue So Coveted?

Its two-year waiting list explains why the vehicle has become one of the most coveted luxury models in recent times. In Brazil, the starting price for the Ferrari SUV is R$ 7.4 million. By the way, the Ferrari Purosangue is not like other vehicles from the brand.

There are several details that make the crossover different. For example, the front design resembles that of the Roma coupe, with LED bars cutting through the headlights. However, the proportions are much larger. Initially, its ground clearance is clearly greater, even though the manufacturer considers the model an SUV. Nonetheless, it measures 4.97 meters in length, 2.03 m in width, 1.59 m in height, and has a wheelbase of 3.02 m.

The Ferrari Purosangue is approximately the same size as the new Porsche Cayenne. However, the Italian brand’s SUV is larger in nearly all dimensions. Only the trunk at 473 liters is smaller than that of the German SUV, which has 772 liters. Thus, it has a muscular build and plenty of space for four adults. By the way, it has four doors, and the rear ones are suicide doors that open in the opposite direction of the front ones. No other competitor has this feature.

Ferrari Purosangue SUV Delivers 725 Horsepower

Shortly after unveiling the Ferrari Purosangue, the brand had to suspend sales of the SUV. This was due to a higher-than-expected number of orders. According to commercial director Enrico Galliera, the surge in reservations came as soon as the brand announced the vehicle’s mechanical set. Unlike the luxury market trend, which is becoming increasingly electrified, the crossover features a classic naturally aspirated V12 under its long hood.

According to official data from the Italian brand, the 6.5-liter gasoline V12 engine generates 725 horsepower at 7,750 rpm, as well as 72.9 mkgf of maximum torque at 6,250 rpm. Furthermore, 80% of the power is available as early as 2,100 rpm.

The automated eight-speed dual-clutch transmission is mounted on the rear axle, and the drivetrain is all-wheel drive. With this setup, the Ferrari Purosangue can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h.

Ferrari SUV Features Various Technologies

To deliver everything it promises in its design, the Ferrari Purosangue relies on high technology. For example, the SUV features the Ferrari Active Suspension system, which features four 48-volt actuators to control the movements of the shock absorbers.

This way, it can reduce the body height by up to 10 millimeters at high speed or when making a tighter turn, for example. Another available feature is the electronic downhill control (HDC), a first for a Ferrari.

Behind the wheel, the driver benefits from a complete package of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). There is adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, automatic high beam, lane-keeping system, and blind spot alert. The SUV system also reads traffic signs and monitors signs of driver fatigue.
