Yamalog’s pilot project uses a Volkswagen e-Delivery 11 in Greater São Paulo, reduces operational costs, decreases CO₂ emissions, and integrates the decarbonization strategy of Yamaha’s logistics operation in Brazil.
Yamaha Motor do Brasil started, in 2026, a pilot project to electrify part of its logistics operation in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. Additionally, the initiative is led by Yamalog, the company responsible for the group’s logistics in the country. Now, a 100% electric Volkswagen e-Delivery 11 truck is being used for deliveries of motorcycles and outboard motors destined for the brand’s dealerships.
According to information released by Yamaha Motor do Brasil and Yamalog, the project is part of the logistics operation’s decarbonization strategy. At the same time, the company plans to gradually increase the participation of electric vehicles in the coming years.
Pilot project starts in Greater São Paulo
Initially, the Volkswagen e-Delivery 11 was chosen, a model developed for urban operations. According to the manufacturer, the truck has a range of up to 230 kilometers, capacity to transport 3,500 kg of cargo, and a volume of 45 m³.

Operation records cost and emissions reduction
As reported by Fernando Carvalho, Distribution Manager at Yamalog, in the first month of operation, an approximate reduction of 30% in recharging costs was recorded, compared to refueling a conventional truck of similar size.
In addition to operational savings, about 906 kg of carbon dioxide (CO₂) were not emitted during this same period.
According to the company, another observed benefit was the reduction of noise during deliveries. According to Erick Leite, Logistics Supervisor at Yamalog in São Paulo, the electric truck provides a quieter operation. Consequently, drivers and teams involved in deliveries benefit.
Meta plans to expand the electric fleet in the capitals
At the same time, the project is part of the company’s medium-term planning. According to Carlos Lomonaco, Deputy Director of Logistics at Yamaha and Yamalog, the company monitors the evolution of recharging infrastructure and the reduction of operational costs to increase the use of electric vehicles.
Additionally, the expectation is to expand this model to other units located in large urban centers.
Yamalog’s goal for the next three years
- Electrify 20% of the fleet used in the capitals where it operates;
- Gradually expand the use of electric trucks;
- Monitor the evolution of recharging infrastructure;
- Increase the decarbonization of urban logistics operations.
Yamalog operates throughout Brazil
Yamalog was founded in 2017 and, currently, it is the only proprietary logistics operation of Yamaha worldwide.
Additionally, the company is headquartered in Manaus and operates throughout the national territory through 14 operational units.
Finally, its operations use a subcontracted fleet consisting of more than 600 trailers and more than 80 distribution vehicles.
