The company, linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, filled sector specialists with positive expectations with this proclamation.
ABDN’s Perspective on FINEP’s Decision
Celso Cunha, president of ABDAN (Brazilian Association for the Development of Nuclear Activities), sees FINEP’s decision as an important milestone in Brazil’s nuclear advancement. “FINEP’s investments in nuclear projects suggest a great horizon of growth for innovation in nuclear processes and sustainable technology. This initiative is crucial, as the nuclear sector has immense potential to drive the country’s progress on various fronts,” he stated.
The Hidden Potential of the Nuclear Sector
Cunha clarifies that the nuclear sector, traditionally linked to electricity generation through nuclear plants, offers much more. “The application of nuclear energy extends to various fields such as medicine, agriculture, industry, national security, and much more. Furthermore, nuclear technology has immense potential to foster innovation and competitiveness across different segments of the economy. With the growing demand for clean and sustainable energy, nuclear energy can become a vital alternative to reduce dependence on non-renewable sources,” emphasizes the president of ABDAN.
