The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) announced this week the opening of a new competition with opportunities for the Aeronautics Sergeant Training Course, with an expected start date in the second half of 2025. This FAB contest is a great opportunity for young Brazilians who wish to pursue a military career and contribute to one of the most respected institutions in the country.
Find Out Who Can Compete for Positions in the Brazilian Air Force
Those interested in participating in the FAB contest of both genders must have completed high school and must be within the age range of 17 to 25 years by December 31, 2025. It is important to mention that 20% of the positions in the Brazilian Air Force are reserved for black candidates, as provided by law.
The Aeronautics Sergeant Training Course will be held at the School of Aeronautics Specialists (EEAR), located in Guaratinguetá (SP), in a military boarding regime.

With a projected duration of two years, candidates approved in the FAB contest will have the opportunity to specialize in one of several offered areas, such as Communications, Electricity and Instruments, Aircraft Mechanics, among others. Upon reaching the rank of third sergeant, graduates will have an initial base salary of R$ 3,825.00, in addition to benefits such as meals, accommodation, uniforms, medical-hospital and dental assistance.
Sign Up and Compete for Positions in the Brazilian Air Force
Applications for the FAB contest are open and will close on July 24, 2024. The selection process will consist of several elimination and classification stages, starting with the Written Test, scheduled to take place on December 1st. This phase will cover fundamental subjects such as Portuguese Language, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics, with a total duration of 4 hours and 20 minutes.
The testing locations include various cities across Brazil, ensuring access for candidates from different regions. After the written test, candidates will undergo a Health Inspection, a Psychological Aptitude Test, and a Physical Conditioning Assessment Test, in addition to Document Validation. Preliminary results will be released immediately after the test, on December 2nd, on the official enrollment website.
Candidates who pass all stages must complete registration and prepare to start the course on July 2, 2025. It is essential to remember that the validity of the FAB contest will be 5 consecutive days from the day following registration and the start of activities in the Sergeant Training Course.
Other Positions in the Brazilian Air Force
The Brazilian Air Force also announced another selection process aimed at Brazilians interested in joining the Volunteer Military Service for service in the Reserve Officers’ Class 2 (QOCON MED).
Applications for the FAB contest will begin on July 8, directly through the Brazilian Air Force’s Temporary Recruitment website. The purpose of the call for applications is to hire medical professionals, focusing on the years 2024 and 2025.
To compete for a position in the Brazilian Air Force, candidates must hold a complete higher education degree, as well as specialization in the medical area they wish to apply for. Additionally, it is required that candidates are at most 41 years old by the date of incorporation. Interested parties can obtain more information by accessing the announcement available on the FAB Temporary Recruitment page and selecting the unit of interest.
