The Medium SUV From Ford Arrives With a Fresh Look and New Interior, But Loses Important Features. Find Out If It Still Manages to Be the Best SUV for Families Seeking, Above All, Space.

The New Ford Territory 2026 hits the market with a facelift that brought a more attractive design and a renewed interior. Despite the visual improvements, the model has lost features, such as the automatic parking system. Maintaining the price of R$ 215,000, the question is: are its qualities, especially the interior space, enough to surpass the competitors?

What Has Really Changed?

The Ford Territory has undergone a recent update. The most visible change is in the front, which is now more beautiful, featuring an all-LED optical set and an imposing design. Inside, the finish has abandoned the old bluish tone in favor of a combination of black with orange details, along with quality materials such as leather and soft-touch parts.

However, the renewal brought a noticeable loss. The SUV no longer has the automatic parking assistant, a feature present in the previous version. The price, on the other hand, has been maintained, raising questions about the cost-benefit of the changes.

Sufficient Power for Everyday Life

Under the hood, the 2026 Territory retains the 1.5 turbo gasoline engine with direct injection. It delivers 169 horsepower and 25.5 kgf.m of torque. The transmission is a seven-speed oil-bathed dual-clutch automatic.

The performance isn’t the most exciting aspect. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 10 seconds, with a top speed limited to 180 km/h. It’s a mechanical set that offers enough performance for daily use and trips, but without sporting ambitions. The declared fuel consumption is 8.8 km/l in the city and 11.2 km/l on the highway, always on gasoline.

Unmatched Interior Space

The Territory’s main asset against its competitors is one thing: interior space. The trunk has a capacity of 448 liters, an excellent volume with a fully lined finish. But it’s in the rear seats where it truly impresses.

With a flat central floor and air conditioning vents, three adults can travel very comfortably. The legroom is ample, even allowing for crossed legs with ease. For those seeking the best SUV in terms of spaciousness for the family, this is an undeniable advantage.

Finishing and Technology Onboard

The interior finish is a positive point, using leather on the seats and soft-touch surfaces on the dashboard and doors. The SUV comes well-equipped, with panoramic sunroof, blind-spot alert, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The new version also includes Ford Pass, which allows control of vehicle functions via smartphone.

The digital instrument panel and multimedia center, compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, have been updated and are improved. However, the concentration of commands on the screen, such as air conditioning, may not be practical. As noted in the evaluation from the channel Carro Chefe, the usability of the multimedia system and the lack of physical shortcuts for certain functions are points to consider.

Is the Territory the Best SUV For You?

The Ford Territory 2026 is a well-finished and extremely spacious car. Its undeniable strong point is the comfort it offers to passengers, especially in the back seat.

However, its price of R$ 215,000 places it in a market range with strong competitors, including hybrid options like the GWM Haval H6. The purchase decision will depend on consumer priorities. If generous interior space is the most important factor, the Territory stands out. If performance or the efficiency of a hybrid engine are more relevant, it may be necessary to look at rivals. It is a competent car, but its main attraction is undoubtedly its spaciousness.
