While The Gasoline Version Arrives Renewed, The Expectation For The Arrival Of The Ford Territory Hybrid 2026 Grows In Brazil. Know The Details Of The Model That Targets The Leaders Of The Segment.
Ford has just launched the 2026 line of its mid-size SUV Territory in Brazil, with a renewed look and more technology. However, the big expectation in the market revolves around a version that, for now, has not come: the Ford Territory Hybrid 2026. In a scenario where sales of electrified vehicles are skyrocketing, the absence of a hybrid option at launch raised questions about the brand’s strategy to compete with well-established rivals like the Jeep Compass 4xe and Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid.
The good news for enthusiasts of electrification is that this version is not just a rumor. A Ford Territory plug-in hybrid (PHEV) already exists and is sold in China, and its possible arrival in Brazil is seen as a natural and necessary step for Ford to remain competitive. The question is not if it will come, but when and at what price.
The Reality Of 2026: The Renewed Gasoline Territory

The model that reached Brazilian dealerships in July 2025 is a facelift of the SUV, now with a design inspired by the Chinese model Equator Sport. It maintains the 1.5 EcoBoost Turbo Gasoline Engine with 169 HP, focused on comfort and technology.

Sold in a single version, the Titanium, for R$ 215,000, it comes packed with features, including a digital dashboard and a multimedia center, both with 12.3-inch screens, along with a complete package of driving assistants. Despite being a competent product, the absence of an electrified option puts it at a direct disadvantage against the sales leaders.
The Big Bet For The Future: The Plug-in Territory

The true star and the great hope of Ford is the PHEV version already available in China. This is the Ford Territory Hybrid 2026 that the Brazilian market eagerly awaits. Its mechanical set is impressive:
Combined Power: The 1.5 Turbo Gasoline Engine works together with an electric motor to deliver 218 HP of combined power.
Electric Range: Equipped with an 18.4 kWh battery, it can run about 100 km in fully electric mode, allowing for most daily trips without consuming a drop of fuel.
Fuel Efficiency: In hybrid mode, fuel efficiency can reach an impressive 23 km/l, a figure that would place it among the most economical in the country.
The Scenario In Brazil: An Electrified Competition
The arrival of the Ford Territory Hybrid 2026 is crucial for the brand. The Brazilian market for electrified vehicles grew 73% in the first half of 2025, according to data from ABVE (Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles), and its main competitors are already well positioned:
- Jeep Compass 4xe: Plug-in hybrid focused on performance and off-road capability.
- Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid: Conventional hybrid (non-plug-in) focused on reliability and low consumption.
- BYD Song Plus and GWM Haval H6: Chinese SUVs that dominated the plug-in hybrid market with aggressive pricing and high electric range.
When The Hybrid Arrives And How Much Will It Cost?
Ford has not yet officially confirmed the launch of the Ford Territory Hybrid 2026 in Brazil, but market speculation points to a possible arrival between late 2026 and early 2027.
To be competitive, its price would need to be positioned aggressively. The expectation is that, if launched, it would come in a price range between R$ 200,000 and R$ 230,000, taking advantage of tax incentives for electrified vehicles and directly targeting consumers of the Compass and Song Plus. Ford’s decision to bring or not this version will be decisive for the future of Territory in Brazil.
