The 18th edition of the Regional Distributed Generation Forum (Forum GD) was a true success according to the FRG Media & Events Group. The event took place in the southern region last week, specifically in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and stimulated the country’s distributed generation sector.
Approximately more than 400 million reais were negotiated, and over two thousand people attended the two days, according to the organization.

Research reveals that the vast majority of national consumers are not willing to pay more for renewable energy despite their support for sustainability.
All this success, however, is a result of the high numbers that consumer production has been achieving in recent months. According to data released by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), distributed generation production grew considerably and reached 20 GW in April.
The southern region, in turn, is responsible for 5.5 GW of the total production, a quite significant number according to the Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation (ABGD). The organization promotes the event, which aims to foster business and bring knowledge about GD to various regions of Brazil.
During the two days, the Forum promoted lectures and presented the main news in the distributed generation sector to the participants. Among them were leading experts from the Federal University of Santa Maria, as well as from the Ideal Institute, government officials from Rio Grande do Sul, and also Oscar Schmidt, the Brazilian basketball champion who now works as a motivational speaker.
For companies from Rio Grande do Sul that attended the event, the forum proved to be an excellent opportunity to show how the sector is performing to their entire team and partners. Leonardo Fluzer Heberle, a specialist from Mazer Solar, highlighted that one of the main advantages of Forum GD is the interaction with the audience, where partnerships and business discussions took place.
“We are very happy to host Forum GD in Porto Alegre, which is our home. The coolest part is being able to talk to our audience; we have clients with whom we have a strong bond, a long-term partnership. Mazer had two booths at the event to welcome our manufacturing partners, our clients, to exchange ideas about what the market is experiencing and align the best strategies. What is also great is that since the event is in Porto Alegre, practically all Mazer Solar employees are having the opportunity to come here to the event,” emphasizes Heberle.
For Tiago Fraga, CEO of the FRG Group, the 18th edition was a success and exceeded all expectations set for the local edition. The next edition of Forum GD is confirmed for the northeastern region, in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. More information can be accessed on the official website https://www.forumgdnordeste.com.br.
