Couple transforms industrial garage into dream home with million-dollar renovation and innovative project that combines housing and work.
A British couple decided to invest in a bold renovation to transform an old industrial garage into their dream home in the English countryside. Niamh and Brandon Coop bought the property in Derbyshire for about £330,000 in 2025 and started the works even before the legal completion of the purchase. The initiative, considered risky, was planned to speed up the move and enable a project that combines residence and work. In total, the investment has already exceeded £90,000 just in initial renovations.
Couple invests big in industrial garage renovation
From the beginning, the couple knew that transforming an industrial garage into a dream home would require a significant investment. In addition to the purchase price, they have already spent around R$573,000 on structural improvements.
The total renovation budget could reach approximately £200,000. Even so, the owners believe that the return is worth it, especially due to the potential appreciation of the property.

One of the most curious points of the story is that the couple started the renovation even before finalizing all the documentation for the property. The decision was strategic but also involved financial risks.
On the other hand, the anticipation allowed them to accelerate the construction schedule. Thus, the industrial garage began to take shape as a dream home in less time.
Dream home combines housing and work in the same space
The project proposal goes beyond a simple residence. The couple decided to integrate the industrial garage with Brandon’s business, which works with motorhomes.
In this way, the space also functions as the operational area of the company. This reduces costs with commercial rent and increases the efficiency of the business.
With the progress of the renovation, the old industrial garage underwent a complete transformation. The project includes five bedrooms, leisure areas, and even an indoor sauna.

Additionally, the couple invested in a game room and a large outdoor garden. These elements help to consolidate the concept of a dream home, bringing comfort and functionality.
Industrial garage maintains structure and adds value to property
Even with the changes, the property retains original characteristics of the industrial garage, such as the courtyard with capacity for up to 50 vehicles. This differential adds value and maintains the versatility of the space.
Thus, the renovation not only adapted the environment for living but also expanded its potential for use. This could result in significant appreciation in the real estate market.
Throughout the process, the couple documented each stage of the renovation on social media. The transparency about costs and challenges attracted thousands of followers.

Meanwhile, the public can follow the evolution of the industrial garage until it becomes a true dream home. The project has inspired others interested in bold and planned renovations.
Thus, the case shows that, with strategy and investment, it is possible to transform an unlikely space into a complete and functional home.
