Fugro is in the process of acquiring two platform supply vessels, the Sea Goldcrest and the Sea Gull, to be used as geotechnical assets. The incorporation of these two recent vessels into its own fleet will further increase Fugro’s capacity to meet market demands and the shortage of vessels with geotechnical capabilities. With the purchase of these strategic assets, Fugro will be operating a balanced fleet of owned and chartered vessels, thus maintaining flexibility for the future.

The company Fugro is focused on ensuring the long-term capability of vessels, especially for the global offshore wind energy market, which has a particularly large need for mapping soil composition and its associated properties through the extraction and testing of soil samples. Throughout 2024, with the delivery of the Sea Goldcrest, Fugro will begin the conversion to a geotechnical vessel, which should be operational by early 2025. The Sea Gull, which is already chartered by Fugro and fully operational, will be delivered in late 2024 or early 2025, thus ensuring the expansion of the company’s operations.
