The Cecierj Foundation, linked to the State Department of Science, Technology and Innovation of Rio de Janeiro, has opened applications for free Professional Qualification courses. The 2024 public notice offers various opportunities for those who wish to enhance their skills in areas such as management, marketing, data science, and sustainability, among others. In total, there are more than 4,500 positions distributed in courses conducted remotely (EAD), providing greater flexibility for participants. Applications will be open until September 19, 2024, and selection will be made by public lottery.
The online courses aim to equip professionals with specific skills, preparing them for the job market. The workload varies from 150 to 180 hours, depending on the chosen course, and the content is offered 100% remotely, allowing students access to virtual classes, discussion forums, seminars, and assessments.
Among the options offered are free online courses such as Financial Management, Leadership Management, Power BI, ESG and Corporate Sustainability, among others. Each online course is designed to be completed within a three-month period, and students will have access to teaching materials and technical support.

A total of 300 positions are offered for each of the available courses, totaling 4,500 positions. All free courses will be conducted remotely, facilitating access for candidates from different regions of the state of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. Participants will have the flexibility to study from home, using digital platforms developed by the Cecierj Foundation.

Selection Processes
The lottery for positions will be conducted based on the numbers from the Federal Lottery, and selected candidates will be automatically enrolled in the courses for which they applied.
The public notice provides for the reservation of positions for affirmative actions, catering to candidates from specific groups, such as low-income individuals and participants of the Unified Registration. The selection process will be conducted by electronic lottery, ensuring transparency and equal opportunities for all applicants. There are no exams or assessments for admission; classification will be solely by public lottery, which reinforces the accessibility of the process.
Requirements for Enrollment
The requirements to participate in the selection process include:
- Minimum age of 16 years (some courses require a minimum age of 18 years)
- Completed elementary education
- Access to a computer or mobile phone with internet
- Basic proficiency in internet navigation
- Active email without spam filters
Furthermore, it is important for candidates to have availability to dedicate about three hours a week to the proposed activities in the course, which include interactions in forums and collaborative knowledge building.
Enrollment
Enrollment is conducted exclusively online, through the official page of the Cecierj Foundation, at the link https://www.cecierj.edu.br/extensao. The enrollment period is open until September 19, 2024. After enrollment, candidates must follow the announcement of results and be mindful of deadlines. All courses are free, and upon completion, approved candidates will receive a professional qualification certificate issued by the Cecierj Foundation, valid throughout the national territory.
