The free online course offered by Gerdau aims to train around 9,000 new entrepreneurs in Brazil and the Americas. The spots are for candidates from Pernambuco, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, and Peru, and the classes will be conducted in Portuguese and Spanish.
Encouraging Youth
According to the president of Instituto Besouro and creator of By Necessity, Vinicius Mendes Lima, the partnership with Gerdau is important to encourage youth, both personally and professionally. “The program’s goal is to show young Brazilians, Mexicans, and Peruvians that they are creative and capable of entrepreneurship, even in times of pandemic. Being an entrepreneur is believing in oneself and that it is possible to change the community and, who knows, the world,” he asserts.

The course will be streamed on YouTube for a period of five days. The access link will be provided after confirming the registration. There will be three hours of daily classes, and the schedules will be defined later. At the end of the course, the student will have access to a ready business model with low or no initial investment.
Gerdau emphasized that “the training supports young people and small entrepreneurs to enter the job market through empowerment and individual strengthening. In addition to teaching the basics for starting a company, such as the opening of CNPJ, defining the target audience, notions of profit, investment, and cash flow. In total, there are 10 teaching stages for the student to finish the course with the future business plan in hand,” according to information from the advisory.
Requirements and Registration for the Free Online Gerdau Course
Young people aged 18 to 29 who are enrolled in or have attended public school can apply for the spots. Additionally, they need to have a business idea and reside in peripheral areas. Participants will receive a digital certificate.
