Announced on Sunday night (25) on social media, the colossal Baly factory will have 500 thousand m² of total area and 100 thousand m² built in Araranguá, in the Extreme South of Santa Catarina. It will be the fourth park and will occupy the space of Alliance One, which ends activities in the 2027 harvest.

The colossal factory that Baly confirmed for the South of Santa Catarina places Araranguá at the center of the brand’s next growth cycle, with a complex of 100 thousand m² of construction within a total area of 500 thousand m², announced directly on social media.

The company, considered the largest Brazilian energy drink brand, described the project as modern, technological, and sustainable, designed to boost the economy, generate even more jobs, and strengthen the Brazilian industry, while the expansion progresses to consolidate national leadership and create more space for the brand’s presence in the country.

What Baly Confirmed About the Colossal Factory in Araranguá

Baly reported that it will build the new unit in Araranguá, a municipality identified as the main one in the region of Extreme South Santa Catarina, within Amesc.

The project anticipates a complex with 500 thousand m² of total area and 100 thousand m² built, designed to support what the brand calls accelerated growth.

In the statement, the company ties the colossal factory to three fronts: consolidation of national leadership, expansion, and a structure capable of keeping up with production increases.

The central message is clear: the unit would be an “important” step to reinforce Baly’s size and the reach of what it describes as its development plan.

Why the New Unit Changes the Game in the Region

The regional impact appears in two layers. The first is the scale of the enterprise: a colossal factory of this size tends to affect the service chain, labor demand, and economic movement, especially when implemented in the heart of a regional hub.

The second layer is both symbolic and practical at the same time: the new complex occupies an already established industrial area, which facilitates the transformation of a space marked by a large previous operation into a new “empire” of production, now linked to the energy sector.

The Industrial Area That Will Change Owners

The future colossal factory of Baly will be located in the space currently occupied by the headquarters of Alliance One, a multinational tobacco processing company.

This company recently announced that, starting in the 2027 harvest, it will cease operations in Araranguá and centralize operations in Rio Grande do Sul.

This move paves the way for a change in the productive vocation of the site: leaving an operation linked to tobacco processing and bringing in a complex focused on energy drink production, promising new jobs and strengthening the regional industry.

What the Announcement Reveals About Baly’s Expansion

With the unit in Araranguá, Baly reaches its fourth manufacturing park.

The company was founded in 1997, in Tubarão, and has two units in Cidade Azul and one in Treze de Maio, a municipality also in southern Santa Catarina.

In practice, the colossal factory announced for Araranguá expands the brand’s “map” of production within the state itself and fits the expansion into a capacity logic: the larger the structure, the greater the support for the growth pace that the company claims to be experiencing.

The Celebration of the Business Association and the Message to Investors

The announcement was celebrated by the Business Association of Araranguá and the Extreme South of Santa Catarina (Aciva), which has been monitoring the exit of Alliance One and the interest of companies in the location.

For the entity, the arrival of Baly represents significant investment, job creation, and confirmation that the municipality is ready to welcome large operations.

The president of the association, Jadiel Boza Della Vechia, summarized the immediate effect of the news by stating that Baly’s arrival “drives the economy” and strengthens regional development, reinforcing that Aciva monitors and supports initiatives of this profile.

In the end, a colossal factory like this changes the economic climate of Extreme South Santa Catarina: do you think Araranguá will become a new industrial hub with this investment?
