Payment Will Be Released Sooner Than Expected and Should Stimulate the National Economy by the End of November
The anticipation of the 13th Salary has been confirmed by the federal government and will benefit millions of INSS workers and those in the private sector throughout Brazil. The first installment will be deposited by November 28, a Friday, since the official deadline falls on a Sunday, when there is no banking operation.
The measure has a direct effect on the economy, anticipating the financial flow at a time of increased consumption and preparing companies and beneficiaries for the end of the year. The 13th Salary, known as the Christmas bonus, is a right guaranteed by the Federal Constitution and the CLT to those with signed employment contracts, in addition to retirees and pensioners from the INSS.
Who Is Entitled to the 13th Salary
All workers with a formal contract, registered domestic workers, public servants, and beneficiaries of the National Institute of Social Security are entitled to the benefit.

Government cancels R$ 25 million “celebration” for Brasília’s anniversary and allocates funds to health.
To receive it, one must have worked at least 15 days with an active contract during the month.
In case of dismissal, payment is made proportionally to the length of service.
The government emphasized that the INSS already made some deposits in April, benefiting retirees and pensioners.
Only those who began receiving the pension benefit from June will be included now, in the November round.
How the 13th Salary Value Is Calculated
The calculation follows a simple formula: the monthly salary is divided by 12 and multiplied by the number of months worked in the year.
Those who maintained a link throughout the period receive the equivalent of one full additional salary. The first installment corresponds to 50% of the gross amount, without deductions.
The second installment, with legal deductions of INSS and Income Tax, must be paid by December 20.
Companies that do not meet the deadline can be reported to the Labor Court, and the employer is liable for delays in payment, according to Federal Law No. 4,749/65.
In serious cases, the worker can even request indirect termination, when there is a breach of contractual obligations.
Economic Impact and Final Deadlines
The anticipation of the 13th Salary is expected to inject billion reais into the Brazilian economy, strengthening consumption and commerce in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Economists assess that the measure helps balance the cash flow of indebted families and boosts the service sector.
Private companies are also adjusting their calendars to meet legal obligations within the new deadline.
Although it is possible to pay the benefit in a single installment, most companies opt for two installments, following the traditional model.
With the 13th Salary anticipated, INSS workers and those in the private sector will have more financial flexibility before the end of the month.
The government bets on the positive impact of this early income injection to stimulate the domestic market and stabilize family consumption.
