Federal Government Speaks Out on the Creation of New Jobs
In his speech about the job program in renewable energy, agriculture, and others at the Assembly, Bolsonaro emphasized that the future of sustainable jobs is in Brazil, citing six sectors of the economy.
According to Joaquim, the president accepted literally all suggested excerpts to be included in the speech on the environment. The minister also stated that the data cited by the president are correct. The Minister of the Environment attributed the reduction in deforestation to increased enforcement. The budget for environmental agencies rose to nearly half a million, up from R$ 228 million. A total of 739 new jobs were created for new ICMBio inspectors.
Brazilian Government Speaks Out on the Expansion of the Sustainable Agriculture Market
The statement made by Bolsonaro that Brazilian agriculture occupies 8% of the national territory comes from data provided by Embrapa, which calculates this figure at 7.8%, and from NASA, which reports 7.6%.
According to the minister, livestock occupies 19%, but Bolsonaro focused only on agriculture. Leite stated that he offered the COP26 president information on management efforts with countries with which Brazil has better communication than the United Kingdom to present more ambitious targets for reducing pollutant emissions. Joaquim Leite claims that Sharma accepted the help and that he has already spoken with officials from 27 countries and still intends to speak with 50 more before the conference in Glasgow.
