The Signing Of The Intent Protocols Ensured A Good Future Perspective For The Energy Market And Industrial Sector In The Region. The Government Of Bahia Now Seeks Investments In New Projects To Boost Income And Employment In The State.

In a ceremony held at the Governor’s Hall in the Administrative Center of Bahia, in Salvador, on last Tuesday (11/22), the Government of Bahia took another step towards the state’s development. The state authority signed five intent protocols for energy and industrial sector projects over the next few years. The investments planned already total more than R$ 8.38 billion and will bring strong benefits to the socioeconomic development of the region.

Intent Protocols Signed By The Government Of Bahia Will Attract Strong Investments For Energy And Industrial Sector Projects

The Government of Bahia is now investing in the search for new partnerships with private companies to develop the industrial sector and the energy market in the region.

On last Tuesday, Governor Rui Costa signed five intent protocols at the Governor’s Hall in the Administrative Center of Bahia, in Salvador, with companies that intend to open, expand, or develop new projects in these segments.

The signing of the protocols was carried out by the Secretariat of Economic Development (SDE), which now aims to attract new investments for the industrial sector and the energy market.

The investment forecast for the projects of the intent protocols is R$ 8.38 billion, in addition to more than 1500 jobs generated throughout the state of Bahia.

The Government of Bahia also expects more than 7,000 job opportunities just during the implementation phase of these projects.

“This is an act to celebrate, welcome, and say welcome to investors who believe in Bahia. Some of them already have investments in the area of food and beverages and are expanding their enterprises. Others are coming, such as in the area of renewable energy,” commented the governor.

“Now in December, we will hold another event to consolidate the partnership in the area of electric vehicles. Bahia has followed a different pace, with years of growth and inclusion. We want to reap the fruits of this in reducing unemployment, improving income, and reducing inequality because that is a process that happens over years,” he added.

Energy And Industrial Sector Projects Will Bring A Strong Boost To The State’s Development, Says The Government Of Bahia

During the signing of the intent protocols with the Government of Bahia, the companies expressed interest in investing in projects in the municipalities of Conceição do Jacuípe, Simões Filho, Gentio do Ouro, Sobradinho, and Juazeiro.

M. K BR S/A (Mondial Eletrodomésticos), Norsa Refrigerantes S.A. (Coca-Cola), W. L Energia Ltda, Icó Energias Renováveis Ltda, and Maracanã Geração de Energia e Participações SA were the companies responsible for the agreements with the state authority.

In the energy segment in the state, Maracanã Geração de Energia e Participações intends to invest R$ 5 billion in constructing a wind farm in Gentio do Ouro, generating 2,200 direct jobs and 2,500 indirect jobs during the construction.

W.L Energia LTDA will make investments in Sobradinho, with a total value of R$ 1.8 billion, which will boost the industrial sector and job creation in the city over the next few years.

The Government of Bahia is now seeking new incentives for even more projects throughout the state, and partnerships with the private sector.
