After Determining Last Week The Cancellation Of The Diesel Increase That Would Be Granted By Petrobras, Which The Government Discarded As An Intervention In The Company, President Bolsonaro Met This Afternoon On Tuesday (16) To Obtain Explanations About The Adjustment Index (5.7%).
The Agenda Was Divided Into Two Parts: In The Morning, The Practical Part With The Truck Drivers Was Discussed, And Some Concrete Measures In Favor Of The Category Were Decided.
The First Measure Is That BNDES Will Open A Line With R$ 500 Million Available, With Banco Do Brasil And Caixa Econômica Federal As The Financing Banks, And Subsequently In All Banks And Cooperatives. The Intention Is To Provide A Credit Of Up To R$ 30 Thousand Per Independent Truck Driver.

The Diesel Increase
Regarding The Diesel Increase, At 16:30 Today (16), The President Met With Ministers Onyx Lorenzoni (Civil House), Paulo Guedes (Economy), Tarcísio De Freitas (Infrastructure), And Bento Albuquerque (Mines And Energy). The General Director Of ANP, Décio Oddone, And The President Of Petrobras, Castello Branco, Also Attended.
During A Press Conference After The Meeting, The Minister Of Mines And Energy, Bento Albuquerque, Stated That Petrobras Is Responsible For Defining The Timing And The Value Of The Adjustment In The Price Of Diesel Oil.
The Minister Further Added That If Petrobras Decides On The Diesel Increase, It Will Apply To 54% Of The Price, As According To Him, The Other 46% Corresponds To Taxes.
The Meeting Served, According To The Minister, For President Bolsonaro To Be Informed About How A Percentage Increase In Fuel Prices Is Determined, As This Is A Delicate Subject And Any Outcome Will Generate A Political Dimension That Deserves The President’s Attention.
He Also Emphasized That The Adjustment Calculation Must Be Made Transparently And That Adjustments Cannot Be Daily And That He Hopes Petrobras Works To Improve Its Practices.
Thus, The Minister Concluded The Interview By Declaring That No One (Including The Company’s And Brazil’s Presidents) Knows If The Increase Will Happen, How Much It Will Be, And When It Will Occur, And That Petrobras Is Sovereign To Decide.
