The Federal Government Authorizes This Week The Opening Of A New Public Competitive Exam For The MCTI. There Will Be More Than 800 Vacancies With Salaries That Can Reach R$ 11 Thousand.
The Federal Government authorized this week the holding of a new public competitive exam with 814 vacancies for the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. The deadline for the publication of the opening notice will be up to 6 months. The publication of the ordinance from the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services was made this Monday (10) in the Official Gazette of the Union.
What Vacancies Does The Public Competitive Exam Offer?
According to information, the public competitive exam authorized by the Federal Government will have the following opportunities:
Analyst in Science and Technology (296 Vacancies)
This professional is responsible for supporting the direction, coordination, planning, organization, control, and evaluation of research and development projects in the field of Science and Technology, in addition to conducting the necessary analyses for the institution or company. Those approved will have an initial salary of R$ 6,445.17, which can reach R$ 10,262.79 for those with a Ph.D.

This work can be done by university students, TAE professionals, faculty, or professionals linked to companies. The initial salaries offered are R$ 7,236.29, which can reach R$ 11,590.93 for those with a Ph.D.
Technologist (265)
This position addresses the career plan for the field of Science and Technology within the Direct Federal Administration, Foundations, and Federal Autarchies, allowing, in addition to these higher-level professionals, also technical and auxiliary staff for the composition of its teams. This position has an initial salary of R$ 6,445.17, which can reach an initial salary of R$ 10,262.79.
Notice Is Expected To Be Published In October
The request for authorization for the public competitive exam was made in May of last year, requesting the filling of 1,277 vacancies, a number greater than what has been granted now.
Thus, according to the authorization from the minister, the publication of the notice for the MCTI Exam should take place within six months, that is, by October 10 of this year. The document also states that the exams must be conducted within a minimum period of two months after the publication of the notice.
After the authorization of the public competitive exam by the Federal Government, a committee will now be formed, in addition to starting the process of developing the notice and selecting the organizing institution. After signing the contract with the company that will be responsible for administering the assessments, the date for the start of the competition may be announced.
It is worth mentioning that this is the second public competitive exam authorized by the Federal Government this year. The first, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offers 30 vacancies for the position of third secretary in the diplomatic career.
How Was The Last MCTI Public Competitive Exam?
The last selection process for the MCTI competitive exam took place in 2012, and there were 551 vacancies in both middle and higher-level positions.
The salaries offered at the time were R$ 2,705.38, with initial salaries of R$ 1,885.33 and performance bonuses of R$ 820.05 for assistant and technical positions in high school. For the analyst and technologist positions, salaries reached R$ 9,157.15 considering R$ 3,884.92 in basic salary, R$ 3,649 for the Ph.D. title, and R$ 1,623.23 for performance bonuses.
At that time, the organizing institution was Cebraspe. In total, 92 vacancies were available for analyst in science and technology, 36 for researcher, 84 for technologist, 9 for technicians, and 330 for science and technology assistants.
