With Tax Incentives and the Investment from the Eliane Group, the New Factory Dedicated to the Production of Ceramic Coatings in Bahia, Which Will Be Under the Management of Ceramus Bahia, Will Be Responsible for Generating About 570 New Jobs in the Region of Camaçari

In the Camaçari region of Bahia, after the application of a letter of intent worth approximately R$ 600 million for the implementation of an industrial unit on Wednesday (6), 570 new jobs are expected to be generated. Céramus Bahia Produtos Cerâmicos LTDA, part of the Eliane Group, and the Government of the State of Bahia signed an agreement last Tuesday, the 5th, which provides for the establishment of a new industrial unit dedicated to the manufacture of ceramic coatings in Camaçari, Bahia.

The director and president of Céramus, Edson Gaidzinski, praised the state of Bahia for being an excellent area for investments, as its network has been installed there for decades. Edson also mentioned that with the implementation of this incentive, the investment will finally make complete sense.

The director and president of Céramus also spoke about the Eliane Group, which has been in the market for over 60 years, and that it will now build a factory with the aim of creating more jobs and manufacturing higher value-added products, intending to serve not only the Bahia market but also all of Northeast Brazil and, perhaps, the entire country.

The new factory of the Eliane Group, in partnership with the Government of the State of Bahia, will produce ceramic coatings and will be located in the city of Camaçari. The Governor of the State of Bahia, Rui Costa, and the Acting Secretary of Economic Development, Paulo Guimarães, were present at the signing ceremony of the agreement.

According to an analysis by the Acting Secretary of Economic Development, Paulo Guimarães, the application of this investment is very important for all of Bahia. According to the secretary, the ceramic production sector has the greatest growth potential at this time, when not only the state but also the country is focused on recovering the economy after the severe COVID-19 pandemic, which we are still trying to mitigate.

Guimarães further emphasized that the ceramic production sector remained the most active throughout the peak of the pandemic and continues to be active and resilient.

The secretary concluded by stating that the investment is important not only for the quality of the company but also for the quality of the products it is beginning to manufacture, which are much more modern and of higher added value.

Government Incentives Should Aid in the Construction of the Factory

The secretary also highlighted the incentives that the company will receive, as the Eliane Group is counting on the support of the Government of the State of Bahia in granting the area where the factory will be built, in addition to the tax incentives that will be applied.

Guimarães also mentioned that both during the construction phase and after the factory’s operations begin, there will be significant job creation, with approximately 570 jobs initially, which is very important for the Camaçari region.

The secretary concluded by saying that he hopes this will be just the first of many investments they will make in the coming years to increase production, even if gradually.
