With the tax incentives and the investment by the Eliane Group, the new factory for the production of ceramic tiles in Bahia, which will be managed by Céramus Bahia, will be responsible for generating around 570 new jobs in the Camaçari region

In the region of Camaçari, Bahia, after applying a protocol of intent in the amount of approximately R$ 600 million for the implementation of an industrial unit on Wednesday (6), 570 new empregos must be generated. Céramus Bahia Produtos Cerâmicos LTDA, originating from the Eliane Group, and the Government of the State of Bahia signed an agreement, last Tuesday, the 5th, which provides for the implementation of a new industrial unit for the manufacture of ceramic tiles, in Camaçari, Bahia.

The director and president of Céramus, Edson Gaidzinski, praised the state of Bahia for being an excellent area for investments, as its network has been installed there for decades. Edson also said that, with the application of this incentive, the investment will finally make perfect sense.

The director and president of Céramus also spoke about Grupo Eliane, which has been in the market for over 60 years, and which will now build a factory with the aim of generating more jobs and manufacturing products with greater added value, with the aim of meeting not only the Bahia market but also the entire Northeast and, who knows, the whole of Brazil.

The new Eliane Group factory, in partnership with the Government of the State of Bahia, will produce ceramic tiles and will be located in the city of Camaçari. The Governor of the State of Bahia, Rui Costa, and the Acting State Secretary for Economic Development, Paulo Guimarães, were present at the signing ceremony of the agreement.

According to an analysis by the State Secretary for Economic Development, Paulo Guimarães, the application of this investment is very important for the whole of Bahia. According to the secretary, the sector that produces ceramics is the one that has the greatest growth potential at the current moment in which not only the state but also the country is, which is the focus on the recovery of the economy after the serious Covid-19 pandemic, that we are still trying to minimize.

Guimarães also highlighted that the ceramics production sector was the one that remained most active throughout the peak period of the pandemic, and continues to remain active and persevering.

The secretary concluded by saying that the investment is important not only for the quality of the company, but also for the quality of the products that it is starting to manufacture, which are much more modern and with greater added value.

Government incentives should help in the construction of the factory

The secretary also highlighted the incentives that the company will receive, as the Eliane Group is counting on the support of the Government of the State of Bahia in the concession of the area where the factory will be built, in addition to the tax incentives that will be applied.

Guimarães also said that, both in the construction phase and after the factory starts operating, there will be a high generation of new jobs, with approximately 570 jobs initially, something very important for the region of Camacari.

The secretary ended by saying that he hopes that this is just the first of many investments that they will make over the next few years to increase production, even if gradually.
