Honda Confirms Launch of New WR-V in Brazil, Promising to Shake Up the Compact SUV Segment with a Locally Manufactured Vehicle Packed with Features and a Competitive Price.

The new Honda WR-V, already registered in Brazil since 2022, stands out for its growth in size and appearance. With a length of 4.32 cm and a wheelbase of 2.65 m, the model is nearly as large as its sibling HR-V, but aims to be more affordable. Design features include a front grille with chrome accents, full LED headlights, and a two-tone paint option.

Equipped with the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, known from the Honda City and HR-V models, the WR-V offers 126 horsepower and 15.8 kgf.m of torque. In Brazil, the model will come with a CVT automatic transmission that simulates seven gears, promising a balanced performance and fuel efficiency.

Interior and Connectivity

Inside, the WR-V presents a simpler look compared to the HR-V and City, with a predominance of hard plastic, but with good quality fittings. The interior space is generous, comfortably accommodating five occupants. Notable is the 8-inch multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as wireless cellphone charging.

The new Honda WR-V comes equipped with traction and stability controls, front ABS brakes, six airbags, and additional features in the top trim versions, such as collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and the LaneWatch system for blind spots.

Price and Availability

It is expected to be launched in Brazil in the second half of 2024, with the price of the WR-V ranging between R$ 110,000 and R$ 150,000. PCD versions may be offered in the range of R$ 100,000, making it an attractive option in the segment.
