With 1.0 Flex Engine and 475-Liter Trunk, the Hyundai HB20S 2021 Stands Out for Its Fuel Efficiency and Balance Between Comfort and Price.

The Hyundai HB20S 2021 1.0 Manual represents the most affordable option in the compact sedan lineup of the South Korean automaker. Produced in Brazil, the model is powered by a 1.0 Flex three-cylinder engine, capable of producing up to 80 horsepower, and focuses primarily on fuel efficiency.

Designed for urban use, the car relies on a simple and efficient mechanical set that prioritizes drivability and low running costs, characteristics valued in this segment.

Learn Everything About the Hyundai HB20S 2021

The design follows the already known style of the HB20 family, with smooth lines and a modern-looking front.

At the rear, the slope of the trunk reinforces the profile of a compact sedan, maintaining a balanced appearance.

The 475-liter trunk offers good space for luggage and serves small families well on trips or for everyday use.

Still, the volume is slightly less than that offered by some competitors, such as the Fiat Cronos.

Inside, the environment is functional, designed to facilitate daily use. The car accommodates four adults reasonably comfortably, but the fifth occupant has more limited space, especially in the rear.

The driving position is comfortable, and visibility is satisfactory, contributing to a sense of security while driving in urban routes.

Equipment Set Offers Balance Between Comfort and Safety

Even in the base configuration, the HB20S comes with a package of equipment that meets the needs of the segment’s audience well.

Included features are power steering, air conditioning, power locks and windows, as well as a multimedia center compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ensuring connectivity and practicality in everyday life.

In terms of safety, the sedan is well-equipped with four airbags, electronic stability control, and traction control — features that, in 2021, were still differentiators in some categories of compact models.

These elements helped the HB20S build a good reputation among consumers who prioritize protection and reliability.

In urban use, the performance is sufficient for those who value efficiency and economy.

The 1.0 aspirated engine is more geared towards easy driving, providing adequate responses in city traffic.

In contrast, on highways, the set reveals its limitations: acceleration responses require patience, especially when the vehicle is loaded.

Still, the five-speed manual transmission offers precise shifts and contributes to fuel efficiency.

Ride comfort is satisfactory, but the firm suspension may make the car more sensitive to road irregularities.

On the other hand, this characteristic helps with stability in curves and conveys a sense of security to the driver.

The interior finish uses simple materials, which is expected in the entry version, although some consumers consider the result less than the price charged in the used market.

Market Price and Direct Rivals of the Hyundai HB20S 2021

According to the Tabela Fipe, the Hyundai HB20S 2021 1.0 Manual has an average value of R$ 66,236.

In the used car market, prices typically range between R$ 62,000 and R$ 70,000, depending on mileage, maintenance history, and specific version.

Models in good condition, with low mileage and dealership maintenance, tend to approach the higher end of the range.

Among direct competitors, the Hyundai sedan faces the Chevrolet Onix Plus 1.0 Aspirated, which offers a broader safety package, and the Fiat Cronos 1.3 Manual, known for its larger trunk and slightly more powerful engine.

The Volkswagen Voyage 1.6 is still remembered for its simple mechanics and low maintenance costs, while the Toyota Yaris Sedan 1.5 operates in a slightly higher category, relying on its reputation for reliability and superior finish.

With this combination of low fuel consumption, suitable equipment, and current design, the Hyundai HB20S 2021 1.0 Manual maintains its relevance among used compact sedans.

The performance is modest but sufficient for those looking for an economical, comfortable car with predictable maintenance — qualities that sustain the model’s good image in the national market.
