Santa Catarina (SC) Is One of the Leading States in Job Openings with Opportunities for Citizens with and without Market Experience.

According to data revealed by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) last Friday, August 12, it is estimated that the state of Santa Catarina (SC) is one of the states with the highest number of employed people in all of Brazil and job openings. The unemployment rate has been reduced to around 3.9% and is one of the lowest in the national scale, making the southern region one of the hiring hubs in the private sector.

More than 65.8% of the entire working-age population (capable of working in the market) is employed with a formal work contract or active contracts, even if under a legal entity. This was the highest value ever reached by any Brazilian state.  The data was collected through the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (Pnad-C) regarding the second quarter of the year 2022.

Unemployment Rate in Santa Catarina (SC) Is Around 9.3%

The unemployment rate reached in the state of Santa Catarina (SC) is lower than the national average, and it is estimated that only 5.1% of young people aged between 20 and 29 are not employed in any position; this value is considerably low, given that in other states, this unemployment rate is around 13%. The state is also a leader in employment formalization, as more than 87% of hires have a formal work contract or a contract proving the existence of an employment link. This number is much higher than those obtained on a national scale, which reaches only 73%.

According to recently revealed data by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the unemployment rate in Brazil is around 9.3%. More Than 2,000 Job Openings Will Arise in a Shipyard in Itajaí and Can Accommodate Both Residents of Santa Catarina and People from Other States Until 2029

The Thyssenkrupp Estaleiro Brasil Sul, located in the city of Itajaí, announced its intention to start a frigate project that is estimated to last until the year 2029. With this in mind, more than 2,000 direct job openings will arise along with over 6,000 indirect jobs. Most of the employees will be hired without a college degree to fill selection processes for welders and other professions in onshore and offshore sectors.  The project for the construction of frigates will receive an investment of at least R$ 9 billion and may be extended based on the performance of the shipyard.

Coastal Cities Are Looking for People Without Experience for Customer Service, and This Could Be an Opportunity to Change States

Bombinhas, one of the coastal cities in Santa Catarina (SC), has job openings aimed at candidates interested in working in customer service, with no requirement for experience or a college degree. Most of the city’s monetary revenue comes from tourism. This is an opportunity for those considering moving to the state of Santa Catarina or for those who live there but have not yet received the job opportunity they were seeking.
