Due To The Lack Of Professionals In The Last Selection Process, IBGE Announced Nearly 50 Thousand Job Openings For The 2022 Demographic Census Focused On The Position Of Enumerator, Which Requires Only Elementary Education.
The Official Gazette of the Union announced, last Thursday (9), the opening of new job openings to work in the 2022 Demographic Census of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). In total, there are 48,535 job openings and the estimate is that the contract duration is three months, with the possibility of extension. The openings are for the position of enumerator and require only elementary education.
IBGE Opportunities Are Complementary To Another Selection Process
The duties of the positions made available by IBGE in the 2022 Demographic Census consist of obtaining information from residents of a given region, at their places of residence. The Enumerator also works under the supervision of a Census Agent Supervisor (ACS).
The Agent will provide the data, work tools, and necessary materials, as well as offer technical guidance and ongoing assistance during the data collection period. According to the Official Gazette, the job opportunities opened in the notice refer to the job vacancies that were not filled in the recent IBGE Demographic Census competition, which offered more than 206 thousand positions across Brazil.

Of this total, 183,021 were only for the position of enumerator. According to IBGE, the complementary notice aims to fill job vacancies in locations that did not have enough approved candidates, even though there were more than 87 thousand non-eliminated applicants in the process overall.
Applications Can Be Made Until This Wednesday (15)
The application for the selection process is completely free and online and can be made through the IBGE page. To do this, the candidate must fill out a form with information about the Notice and the Application Vacancy, Application Request, Education, Personal Data, Address, among others.
It is important to emphasize that the remuneration for hired candidates in the job vacancies will be based on production, calculated by the census sector, according to a fixed rate of enumerated units, such as rural or urban households.
Thus, the category of questionnaire is also considered, such as sample or basic, enumerated individuals, and registration in data collection control. According to the notice, the recommended working hours for the position is at least 25 hours per week, in addition to full and mandatory participation in training.
Furthermore, those who are approved in the 2022 Demographic Census will also receive great benefits, such as transportation, vacation, and a 13th salary.
IBGE Selection Process
The Institute did not provide details regarding the tests, however, based on the assessment applied on April 10, from 9 am to 12 pm, candidates must answer 50 objective questions (multiple-choice).
The subjects of Portuguese Language, Mathematics, and Ethics in Public Service will each have 10 questions, while Technical Knowledge will have 20 multiple-choice alternatives. IBGE is the main provider of information and data in Brazil, meeting the demands of various sectors of society, as well as government agencies at federal, municipal, and state levels.
