Applications for the selective process will be open until May 6, and IBGE has a total of 107 vacancies for two different jobs
Through the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU), published this Monday (May 2), the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) made public the opening of applications for a simplified complementary selective process (PSS), which will select candidates for temporary jobs in two roles: operational census agent (ACO) and subarea census coordinator for the 2022 Demographic Census.
The vacancies contested in the selective process conducted by IBGE will be divided into two roles with different requirements and responsibilities
The role of operational census agent includes responsibilities such as: assisting in carrying out administrative and IT work in the unit where they are located; welcoming and assisting IBGE collaborators and the general public; promoting the digitization and transcription of various documents; providing the necessary technical support to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and activities, among many others outlined in the notice published in the Official Gazette of the Union. Additionally, the job candidate must also meet some requirements, such as the ability to understand and communicate verbally, motor skills to handle a microcomputer and its peripherals, and speed in completing assigned tasks. There are 97 vacancies for this role, with a monthly salary of R$ 1,700.00.
The role of subarea census coordinator at IBGE, in turn, includes duties such as: monitoring the work of teams from national and state coordination for supervision and executing received guidelines; organizing and being responsible for technical, administrative, and operational activities; promoting forecasting, scheduling, requesting, and executing budgetary and financial resources; ordering and defining the areas of action for the Municipal Census Agent and the Supervisory Census Agent; making the rules related to Unified Selection Processes public and respecting them; among others. Some of the requirements for candidates for this job include the ability to move for fieldwork in urban and rural areas, in steep terrain, hard-to-reach localities, and irregular occupation areas; motor skills to handle and operate the mobile collection device during interviews, which may occur in precarious situations, and the ability to read and fill out printed or digital forms and questionnaires. There are 10 vacancies for this role, with a monthly payment of R$ 3,100.00.

If you prefer to apply for the simplified complementary selective process online, the job applicant must complete the application form and send it to the email of the IBGE state unit corresponding to the location of the vacancy they wish to compete for. In addition, they must also send a copy of their identification and documentation that proves their academic title.
On the other hand, applicants who wish to register in person must go to one of the IBGE registration offices and present a copy of their identification document, as well as a copy of their academic title.
At the time of hiring, individuals must also have their original documentation or a certified copy on hand.
