The position of Deck Seaman requires not only technical knowledge but also the willingness to deal with the physical and operational challenges that are part of the onboard routine. The professional will be responsible for maintaining the deck and the vessel’s structures, participating in maneuvers, cargo handling, and operations with cranes or lifeboats.
Additionally, they must act as lookout on the bridge and participate in safety training and emergency drills, as required by the regulations of the Navy and the policies of oil and gas operators.
To apply for the offshore position, it is necessary to hold a valid Deck Seaman certification (CFAQ-C) issued by the Brazilian Navy, as well as all mandatory STCW courses. Previous onboard experience, a valid passport, and basic or intermediate English proficiency are considered fundamental criteria for advancing in the selection process.
