Fire Department Responded To Two Vehicle Fires In Juiz De Fora This Friday. No Injuries, But Total Loss.

Two cases of vehicle fires mobilized the Fire Department on Friday morning (26) in Juiz de Fora, in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais.

The incidents occurred at different times and locations, did not leave injuries, but resulted in a total loss of a car and structural damage to a residence.

The causes are already under investigation by the competent authorities.

The first response occurred around 5 AM, at a residence located on Rua Guidoval, in the Jardim Natal neighborhood.

The second was recorded about two hours later, around 7 AM, on the ascent of Serra dos Bandeirantes, a heavily trafficked roadway in the city.

In both cases, the teams acted quickly to contain the flames and ensure public safety.

Garage Fire Causes Total Loss And Damage To Residence

The most serious incident was reported early in the morning when a vehicle fire affected a car parked in the garage of a two-car house in the Jardim Natal neighborhood. When the Fire Department arrived at the scene, the fire was already advanced, making initial suppression difficult.

The flames spread rapidly and reached the back structure of the residence, causing partial collapse of the affected area.

Given the risk, it was necessary to call the Civil Defense to assess the safety conditions of the property and verify the need for evacuation.

According to the military, the vehicle was completely destroyed, indicating total loss.

Additionally, several items stored in the garage were also consumed by the fire, increasing the financial losses for the residents.

Meanwhile, witness reports drew the attention of the authorities.

According to information relayed to the Fire Department, residents claimed that a man had accessed the site at the beginning of the fire and left the area shortly after.

The circumstances raised suspicions and will be included in the investigation of the fire, which will remain under the responsibility of the competent agencies.

Vehicle Fire On Serra Dos Bandeirantes Controlled Quickly

The second vehicle fire occurred around 7 AM on the ascent of the Serra dos Bandeirantes in Juiz de Fora.

The incident involved a Fusca that was traveling on the road at the time of the incident.

According to the motorist’s report to the firefighters, during the ascent he noticed a strong smell of gasoline.

Upon parking the vehicle to check the situation, he noticed a small fire in the rear of the vehicle.

The driver’s quick action was crucial in preventing the fire from spreading further.

The Fire Department teams arrived within minutes and managed to control the flames quickly.

However, the teams temporarily isolated the area to ensure the safety of other drivers and passengers passing by.

Probable Cause Involves Fuel Leak

According to the preliminary assessment by the military, the most likely cause of the fire on Serra dos Bandeirantes was fuel spillage.

The leak would have come into contact with hot parts of the vehicle, causing ignition.

Although the teams controlled the fire quickly, the incident underscores the importance of preventative maintenance on vehicles, especially older models that may show wear in hoses and fuel systems.

On the other hand, in the case of the fire that occurred in the garage, a confirmed cause is not yet available.

The fire investigation will analyze traces at the scene, testimonies from residents, and possible security camera footage to clarify the circumstances of the occurrence.

Fire Department Reinforces Alert To Population

After the responses, the Fire Department reinforced safety guidelines to the population of Juiz de Fora.

Among the recommendations are attention to strong fuel odors, immediate cessation of vehicle use in the presence of any smoke, and quick activation of specialized assistance.

Furthermore, the military emphasizes that garage fires represent additional risks, as the fire can spread quickly to the structure of the property, putting lives in danger.

While the fire investigation is ongoing, the two cases recorded this Friday serve as a warning about the risks associated with mechanical failures and suspicious situations, reinforcing the importance of prevention and quick response in emergencies of this nature.
